Have You Ever Typed Your Name In A Search Engine? - You'd Be Surprised

I just typed my name into the Google and Yahoo serch engines and came away pretty surprised.
I didn't know that so many things you do on the internet were indexed archieved.
I found over 10 different search results with my name in it. There were messages I posted in the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper that I posted after the death of James Brown.
There was a post of mine in the Village Voice newspaper in New York. There were about 5 messages I posted in different business opportunity forums.
And two of my online businesses were also indexed.
There wasn't anything bad listed or any personal information, however I found it fascinating that so much of what we post on the internet is indexed and archeived.
Have you ever Googled your name? If so, what did you find?

Yup I have sure done it long back and to my astonishment, the first few results were my results from various entrance examinations and others were my results from various contests I had played online or offline. And I also found out a lot of people having the simmilar names as my name is so much different that I thought only I have it.
Any ways it was quite fun.
Take Care
May GOD Bless YOU

Isn't is something how so many people have the same names? I thought I was the only one with my name. But there are so many listed.
Thanks for the Blessing. I needed that tonight.
Your friend.

i did it just now and i was surprised becoz there was nothing! i mean i thought that as i am registered to so many programs systems and so on i would be there. but i can say that the systems really dont reveal users data. and im happy about it. but if i type my login nickname there will be plenty of me there. but at that point i dont mind it.

I haven't but now I am going too. Hold on let's see what comes up. WOW I was shocked to. There are 1, 160,000 searches with my name. Guess what though? None of them are about me. LOL If they were I would be a millionaire. There is a real estate company with my name, lawyers, leads, and technology businesses. It was fun though.

Yes, an amazing amount of stuff comes up. My name pops up in student directories from college, articles I've written years ago, forums I no longer visit, old interviews, etc. The real kicker is Zabasearch.com though...a little scary actually. You can damn near find anyone on there, which is great if you're desperately trying to look for a long-lost friend, but I don't want MY information being all out there like that lol. I heard to get your name removed from that directory, you have to get a new post office box or something...so that the search engine gives that result instead of your real address. You have to go through all that trouble just to have information you never volunteered removed. Ugh.

Yes I did. Just for fun.
I was quite surprised to find my name in a news article. It was about the microfinance program we were implementing in select credit unions in the area serving the poor communities.
In my excitement, I printed a page of the article... as a souvenir, 'coz I never got around to really reading it from the newspaper itself. :)
Isn't it exciting? To realize you made a small contribution in the community... :)

I fly 'under the wire' so when I type in my name there may be results but they are for someone that has the same last name as me or incorrect results. Way too many whack jobs and psychos out there to have your info all over the net so you can request that certain sites remove it or dont publish it.
