What if I get sick of blogging???

I've spent so much time online setting up my new blog and asking many questions about things that I don't know. I was enthusiastic at first and now that my new blog is up and running, I've lost most of my enthusiasm. And I have difficulties now trying to blog in Blogger. What should I do so that I'll have the mood to blog again? It's so gonna affect my adsense earnings.

I've had one since 2001 and my posting has gone down since then over the past year to 6 months. I virtually post once in a blue moon, generally when I feel like letting off steam sadly. Although I do still visit the site regularly, almost whenever I'm online to catch up with friends and communities, but that's about it. I think over the years I've leant that it will come and go in phases. When your inspired to write you write, when your not you don't. If you are really concerned about it, maybe try visiting some websites or read some books/magazines/newspapers for inspiration.

Yeah, I also do try to find some inspiration elsewhere. Maybe I've just been very focused in myLot, that's why my interest for blogging is diminishing.

The problem with blogger is that there is no community there. Unless you have lots of blogger friends, you would be pretty much blogging on your own and in the end you would lose the interest. How about joining a community based blog such as www.efx2.com? I have a blog there and it is the people there that gives me the motivation to go on blogging. Mine is at http://lidi.efx2.com

I don't blog in the traditional sense anymore. I like to use sites like http://www.gather.com and MyLot. The points and dollars keep me at it, because I'm interested in earning. Also, instead of one running blog I'm able to post a number of individual pieces on my interests. That works much better for me.

I'm also interested in earning and luckily now, I have the mood to blog again! Yeah! Well, as long as you are happy doing what you like to do then. Have fun in myLot. =)

Hey Josette J, you know what? I actually HAD EXACTLY the same problem as you with the blog that i set up about 4 months ago? In December 2006? I had my own websites before that and not really into all this blogging stuff. But then i decided to blog because i had always loved writing. I was very excited and thought of all the possible things i would write about. And i was like you, i spent TOO MUCH TIME on finding out what i needed to know before starting to blog. I spent time setting up how my blog looks like, submitting to blog directories and stuff. But when i've done with all those and at 'supposedly' the "right" time to blog, i figured i barely had anything on my mind. I was empty. It's like writer's block. My mind had it that everytime i am in front of the screen looking at that WordPress text box, nothing would ever turn up. So i left the blog for a while (till now actually), and i created another blog which i straight away blog without the care to submit to directories and stuff. I only submit it to Technorati only today. I think sometimes to do something we just can't plan too much about it.

Haha! Yeah, we had the same problem! I was so excited when I first set up my new blog and spent 'too much' time on it. Everytime I'm online, the blog is the first place I go to. Well, now I only go occasionally to write a post or two. I'm not too excited now about it. Haha!

I lost interest in writing for all my blog too. I simply got too much blog to maintain and most of the time I don't even know what to write about. Personal diary type blog is cool though, you can just write about anything like, "Weeee... hey look I am flying." People thought you are crazy, but atleast you write something. But if you narrow down the subject for your blog, you will stress about what to write later on. It helps if the subject is something you feel passionate about, then you will have no trouble writing.

Yeah! Sometimes, I have no idea what to blog about. I'd just be staring at the screen and then just forget the whole thing. Haha! I like keeping a personal blog too where I can write about anything and everything! Actually, I think people like crazy blogs because after all, they are plain crazy and entertain the readers. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Josette_J, Joining the community like myLot may help you to continue blogging. Try to involve your blog reader in your blog to comment on your post. Two way communication between you as a publisher and your blog reader is helpful to keep up the blogging spirit :-) I understand that sometime we quite busy with something else and don't have time or lazy :-) to post something in the blog. Have you try to write couple of post when you have time and then schedule to post it on different day. For example to may write 3-5 post in one day but schedule to post 1 article once a day. Cheers, Fortune Hunter

Hi there! Thanks for your advice. They're great. yeah, why not write a few posts a day, then publish it on different days? That's a good idea.

I have six blogs, and I have to say - my excitement about each of them comes and goes. I think that is pretty normal. Tue, you will get indexed by the search engines faster if you post more often, but still - we are all only human. Maybe take a day or two off. Your blog will still be there waiting for you when you get back:)

My enthusiasm for blogging waxes and wanes as well. I try to post at least once a week so that people who do read it won't think I've quit. You don't have to write in it every day. Also, you might want to join some traffic exchange sites such as blogexplosion, blogmad, etc. I like these because you can look at other people's blogs, and the more you do that, the more people get sent to your blog.
