I am very much under the control of my hobbies. My whole life is strung by my endless watching films, reading novels, melodies I listen to, and eating.
I live for anything that is art, so I have very much lost all capable control over how much time i spend with my hobbies.

if you count drinking and socialising as hobbies, then they control every other aspect of me.

Well, this Mylot thing got a bit out of hand for a while there but I've gotten it in line. I don't actually have many hobbies. I sell books for a living so reading isn't really a hobby. Sking which I haven't done for awhile but could easily get addicited to again is a sport. When I garden, I grow vegetables and herbs to eat and flowers for the house, so I don't consider that a hobby....I seem to call all my 'hobbies' something else. Probably I do that so I don't have to feel quilty if I get carried away.

Great question! I would say my hobbies control me. Especially writing. If I get an idea or inspiration I have to stop whatever I'm doing and write it down. My purse is always full of little notes and ideas on crumpled pieces of paper. Back in the day I'd even run into the bathroom when I was at a bar so I could write down an idea before I forgot it!
