Ebay fanatics...how much do you spend monthly on Ebay?

I really need to get a grip. In the past couple months, I've spent over $580.48 on there. That's a lot for me. Somebody help lol! Do you set a limit for yourself while shopping/bidding on Ebay? If so, what is it? There is something dangerously addictive about outbidding another user. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I need to get some control back though.

I used to spend a lot of money on Ebay buying stuff I didn't even know that I wanted. At one point, I was receiving packages every day. What stopped me was getting burnt a few times and not being satisfied with ebay's customer service. Once I paid for something and never got it (paypal resolved that for me), once I ordered vitamins that were supposed to be "New and unopened" but they had been scotch-taped closed and the final straw was when I posted something to sell and ebay bumped it off -unfairly, I thought. Apparently, if you don't agree with their rulings there is no recourse, I couldn't even find a real person to talk to, they only answered me with form letters. So, I had to get turned off before I stopped bidding so much. I haven't ordered anything in about 3 months, which is a long time for me. I've been looking at craigslist but it's not the same without the bidding. My advice is to take an inventory of all the things that you have purchased on ebay and see how much of it you really need and use. And remember, you're not winning anything, even though they tell you "You have won such and so item" - you are indeed buying it. Put yourself on a limit and stick to it. Good luck!

Thanks for responding. I agree with everything you said. I keep hearing about craigslist, but I really haven't checked it out yet. I will do what you suggested...take an inventory of all the things I've purchased. As of late, I've been thinking more carefully about what I bid on/buy, so hopefully I'm on the road to recovery lol.
