I consider Filipinos to be the most hospitable person. Living in a diverse country like US...I have met several races. I have worked with fellow Filipinos and even if they are in a different country, they still continue to be hospitable. During lunch or breaks at work...they would at least offer you to eat with them. They are very generous with what they have. Other races that I've met...they will just continue to eat and don't even bother asking you to join them even if you won't.
Filipinos are hospitable too especially in accepting guest at home. They will find time to prepare food to eat and of course invite the guest to eat.
I am not being racist or whatever! I'm just letting everyone know that being hospitable is one of the best trait of Filipinos.

that depends on how you look at it. Offering something when you yourself is living in a hand-to-mouth subsistence isn't always right. Family comes first, so when my family visit, I'll go out of my way to prepare the best meal and entertainment for them. I don't earn much, so I don't see a point asking someone if s/he wants to partake in my dinner or lunch. But I'd sure ask him/her if s/he eats if s/he was a family or friend. If s/he says she doesn't have a cent to her name, I'll gladly share my food with her/him. It's good to be hospitable if within your budget. You can't expect everybody to understand that you're just asking if they already eaten, when you tell them, "Let's eat." Maybe thoughfulness is the word to describe us Filipinos.

Thoughtfulness and hospitality is a very different word with a very different meaning.
Hospitable means: given to generous and cordial reception of guests b : promising or suggesting generous and cordial welcome c : offering a pleasant or sustaining environment while thoughtfulness is: given to or chosen or made with heedful anticipation of the needs and wants of others.

My son and I went to Hongkong (twice) and Macau and we saw the hospitality shown by our fellow Filipinos. We didn't know anybody and we had not much money to spend. In Hongkong, when we arrived there at night and we intended to spend the night just anywhere (like Luneta), a Filipina approached us and told us that the police will arrest us and so she guided us to somewhere where we may spend the night (writings are all in Chinese so we can't understand even if we wanted to go to a hotel) LOL! Many Filipinos helped us.
When we went to Hongkong for the second time we proceeded to Macau without knowing anybody again, there were many Filipinos at the port and somebody took us to their house. PLS don't do what we have done, that's just luck perhaps and God did not forsake us. We really had no money but for our 5-day stay there from Hongkong to Macau, we spent only for one meal - Filipinos took care of our lodging and meals. I'm so grateful that Filipinos are hospitable and I hope that they will continue to be so. God commands people to be hospitable.

I think you just got lucky. How ca you travel without any pocket money? It's good to know that Filipinos anywhere in the world try to help their fellowmen. It's a little risky too since they are a total stranger. We have to be careful in dealing with people sometimes even with your own race.
Thanks for sharing!

Yes! Filipinas are the "ideal" wife I must say. Some ethnicity tries to hook up or marry a Filipina because know how to take care of our man. =)

I am a filipino and I agree that we are hospitable.. When you're not from the philippines or your a filipino and you're vsiting someone's place for a vacation in another part of the Philippines and then the owner of the house doesn't have a guest room they would offer there room for you and they sleep in the living room. Filipinos love to offer and would assist you in any way they can. But still others are not. You know what? Some homes keep their best kitchen wares and when they have visitors they use those plates, utensils, and glasses.

Yes! Not just because I'm a proud pinoy but it's really true. I worked with a lot of non-Filipinos lately, in Manila and around the globe. They do say that we Filipinos have a different sense when it comes to hospitality. But not only Filipinos are like this; even the Costa Ricans are very hospitable. :)
Moreover, not only are Filipinos hospitable but we are a happy race. Even if we're having problems in the Philippines or Filipinos having problems in our neighbor countries, we still get the chance to smile and smile back. Not to mention making a humurous idea out of it. ;)
