Acc. 2 me this is a general problem through which today's generation is going across i.e. generation gap
most of the times parents r found scolding n threatning their children.Although children r rite from their part. They try 2 stepforward with this leading world bt our parents are still standing at that position where they use 2, an era back
Sholdn't awareness be spread among the parents 2 encourage n motivate their children rather than discouragement?
What measures should be taken? do suggest...

I am a mother of two kids aged 9 and 3, so I guess that makes me one of the older generation people. And sadly, I am quite guilty of the crimes mentioned above. There are times when I scold, talk, threaten or even spank...but I don't call it abuse because I am only trying to lead them gently to the better path. I love them so much so I have to hurt them a bit to make them see sense. But they know I hurt as well because there are times when I cry while spanking or scolding my kids. If I want my kids to grow up to be respectful, God-fearing and responsible, I must do some disciplinary action. If I must prepare my kids for their future life, I must teach them responsibility, respect for others and other necessary values.
Instilling values in children, like the birth of a baby, is most often hard and painful. But once the values have been implanted and have grown strong through constant nurturing and encouragement, the rewards are so heartwarming.
I might not be the best mother; my kids might not be the best kids --- I couldn't even say that what I am doing is right. I can only look up to God and say, "God, help me become a good caretaker of these gifts you have blessed me with." I am but a caretaker of my kids, my friend. Only God can claim ownership.
When your parents impose necessary discipline, don't look at it as strangling you are curtailing your freedom. They are doing it because they love you very much...I know because I am a mother and I intend to do what I have done if that's what it takes to keep their feet planted on the ground.
