Anyone else read these? I have Mother's, Mother's 2, Parent's, Woman's, Christian Woman's, Christian Woman's 2, the original, and more soup for the soul. I also bought for the Pre-teen soul for my daughter. There was also one, not sure of the title, for Nascar or racing fans.
What other ones do you enjoy? Have you ever contributed to one?

I love these books. I have read Couple's Soul, Mother's Soul, Mother's Soul 2, Parent's Soul, Christian's Soul, Women's Soul, Writer's Soul and the original Chicken Soup for the Soul. I own a couple (Writer's Soul and Mother's Soul and I think Mother's Soul 2). My daughter has enjoyed the Pre-teen's Soul and is now into the Teen's Soul. We bought her number 2 for Christmas. I used to receive their e-newsletters but some glitch has gotten me off their list.
I have contributed... well, I have sent a submission to the Chicken Soup guys but never did receive a response (they said not to expect one unless they are going to publish and pay for it. They get tons of submissions.)
To say there is one for Nascar racing fans is funny. Yeah, they have books that cover every topic imaginable and I think with subjects like Nascar fans it might be getting a little out of control. But as long as people are buying the books, they are going to publish them.

That's great that you at least tried to contribute. Who knows maybe they're holding on to it for a future book. The Nascar on is surprisingly sweet. I don't think it's out of control to have so many different topics. Lots of people have lots of different interests. With all the options available it increases the chance of finding something to suit your needs.

I love those books! I have chicken soup for the teens soul and the teens soul 2. I also have the one for your job...I think it's called Chicken Soup for the Soul At Work. I love those books because they are just filled with inspirational stories, and your heart goes out to so many of the people. I think they are making too many books though, because too much of a good thing can be bad.

My favourite is Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul. For anyone who loves animals, this is a weeper for sure. All of these Chicken Soup books, are good for the soul, and can definitely uplift you.

i would never read this garbage. it may be worse than a "purpose" driven life.

I read many fiction and non-fiction books including self-help and motivational books. Chicken soup series is a great books. I read some and i bought one of the series. It is not that bad.Do not judge the books by its cover.Try to read then you can judge. In court, even the Judge hear the case before they put the sentence.

charlazio- What makes you say they're garbage? If you've never read any how would you know anything about them? And by the way Purpose Driven Life is also good, I even have several of the workbooks.

I loved those when I was 12 or 13. I read all of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage soul ones and I think they are really helpful when you're young. It helped me know that others have the same problems as a teenager that I had without having to actually talk to anyone about them. :) I don't think that reading them as an adult really appeals to me though, unless maybe I was depressed or something.

I think adults need reassurance too. The stories aren't meant just for uplifting a person's spirits but also to inspire and teach life lessons. I'm sure if you found a book with a topic that was meaningful to you, you would enjoy it very much.

I read the very first of these and loved it; Wouldn't part with it; I have the one for Woman's, African American and now African American Soul. I find them pretty inspirational.
