What do you think of marrige?

In the Philippines, marriage is really something to prepare financially. I am not saying it is what's ideal. In fact, I think it a bit unreasonable to spend so much money on a wedding when the thing to prepare for is the marriage. I have seen a lot of couples fighting even before the first month anniversary is up because the funds have been depleted due to extravagant wedding expenses. My wedding ten years ago was nothing like that. My husband is a seaman but we both chose to keep everything as low budget as possible. We could have loaned to show off or spent every penny we saved for the occasion, but where would we have been the day after? The point I want to stress, my friend, is this: If you must invest, invest on the marriage and not on the wedding.
