Who for you is the real idol?

For me it's really Kelly Clarkson who is the best American Idol. I know her songs compared to other American Idols and I think she has the most hit songs of them all (not sure!).

I've got to preface this by saying that I am a huge Kelly Clarkson fan... but I wanted Tamyra Gray to win season 1. As much as I loved Kelly, I thought that Tamyra was that much better than she was. I was actually glad when I heard that Tamyra had gone into acting and had appeared on a few television shows (Boston Public and Las Vegas to name a couple.) I loved Ruben... to me, it proved that this really is a singing competition because Clay would have won if it were strictly a popularity contest. I respect Clay and think he's a great singer, but not in Ruben's class. I wasn't too big on Fantasia. I liked Diana DeGarmo that season... Carrie Underwood is phenomenal, but I wasn't too interested in that season, to be honest with you. For whatever reason, I didn't seem to be too interested. I only caught episodes because they were before The O.C. As for Taylor Hicks... don't get me started. Katharine McPhee, Chris Daughtry, Elliot Yamin... all better. Hell, i could have made a progressive argument for Paris Bennett if I want to... (which I will spare you all of). Overall, the best out of the winners is Carrie Underwood. It is a testament to the effect of the competition when people like Tamyra Gray, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, and Chris Daughtry can be successful despite not winning.

They all are pretty good singers, but I have to say I like Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard. They both catch my eye and they have great vocals.

Chris Daughtry! I know he did not win, but he is my idol. He has done so much and not being a winner, he has songs on the radio, an album out, and BTW... Where is Taylor Hicks. I have not seen him except on tv shows and one commercial. I think I saw an album by him,but where is he ?

This is a tough question I think that the winners are not always the right choice As far as successfully who is the best that would go hands down Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry as well as rising star Jennifer Hudson Other people have come and gone I think the voters of AI did Chris a favor voting him off. He still is successful yet not tied to the contracts AI would have put on him and is able to do his own thing

Carrie Underwood hands down! She has the best voice, she's a cute girl and she is generally a nice person. Kelly Clarkson was good too, but I love Carrie Underwood's music!!! I don't think Ruben, Fantasia or Taylor should have won. Fantasia has an annoying voice, Ruben hasn't done anything since the show and Taylor has a pitchy voice.

I think it's hard. I think the two that have one are Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. The others are bleh!

I never really identify myself with famous people. Why would I I don't know any of them personally...

Kelly Clarkson, no doubt about it! She's the original winner and still the best! She's had many hits and is going strong, teaming up with NASCAR, too. Carrie is ok, also, but there something about her I just don't like. I don't get America's love affair with her. She's blah to me. So, yeah, go K.C., you're the best!

Carrie Underwood is the best because she has come the farest on the show and in real life. She has done alot of work and desurves the Top Set of it. Plus she has one of the most amazing Vocal Range, and her voice is just one of the prettist voices.

gosh this is a hard one cause I voted for them all but if I have to pick one I'd say Fantasia just because of what she's been thru and where she is now she really pulled herself out of a pit.
