Drug testing

Do you think it's acceptable to test for drugs when someone is applying for a job? I think it's horrible. To me, drug testng is just one more way for employers to tell you what youcan and can not do in your leisure time. What do you think?

I agree with you to a point. They shouldn't be allowed to do that because it is an invasion of our privacy. However, I can see why they do it. If your going to be operating some dangerous machinery, they want to make sure that you are completely able to function. That is just my opinion.

Yes, I can see that and even agree with it, but I know that some places are doing it and the job is being a cashier! Or working on the phones. That I have a problem with! Besides, shouldn't they to a sobriety test at the begining of each shift for those people that are operating heavy equipment? Just a thought.

Well as long as it's not something that prevent you from doing your job I don't think employers should have anything to say in the matter.

I aggree 100% with Phlamingho ... as long as it isn't effecting your job why is it any of the employer's business what you do.
