Do you put a table cloth on your table or do you leave it plain?

With me having 2 kids(which can get really messy.LOL)I usaully have jsut the cloth placemats on my table.I usually do not put a cloth placemat where my son sits.I use a plastic kid place mat for him.My daughter sits in her high chair do I dont have to worry about that.On holidays I will put the plastic throw away table cloths on the tables but just for that day and then my table is back to just the placemats.I guess you can wash some tablecloths and you can wash off the plastic tablecloths but I am afaid my son will pull on it and off comes everything.LOL.Also if you have a light ciolored tablecloth that is cloth you take the chance of it having a stain that wont come out.So for now I just use my placemats.

I don't like to put a table cloth on my table other than when it is Christmas time. We set at the table alot and I do not want things to get spilled all over it. I do put place mats on my table though because it makes it look alot nicer. I just hate having to remove everything from the table to eat or clean the table off. Table cloths are very pretty but alot of trouble for me in my household.

I don't use a table cloth, it stems from when the kids were small. I have three who are all 2 years apart. If you don't have small children, take this to heart. NO TABLECLOTHS. Unless, of course, you want everything from the table onto the floor. Little kids grab the edges of the cloth and pull everything off. YEP, you can bank on it, and they only do it with a full set table. Use plastic placemats instead.

I almost put a table cloth on... but the past two months I have only used four cloth placemats... Our table is square and small so they cover all but the four corners and center... But I like the table clothes especially when the kids where growing up... easy to clean up and always looked fresh and clean!

My kids are all teenagers now so they don't make those huge messes much anymore. I use a table runner on my table right now. I like the way it looks and it is easy to color coordinate them with the decorating scheme. I also sit my candles on the table runner for that nice effect. Everything is easy to remove and replace before and after meals.

I remember when I was really little (and a lot more messy!!) my mother would use a plastic based table cloth which could be wiped clean pretty easily. What she would also do was keep it in place by putting little bits of bluc-tack underneath it, so it couldn't be moved out of place. I know it was only blue-tack but it seemed to do the trick!
