My cats take turns sitting on my computer desk when I am online. Since I am alone most of the time while working the computer, I find myself talking to the cat-of-the-hour and having quite a nice discussion! Cats are attentive, watch your expressions and once in a while "talk" back. They are also good company and leave when they are asked.
DO you talk to yours at any time? hat are you doing as you "converse"?

sometimes just a few words
usually when the cat is taking to me first
mostly, "let me go outside" is what he says
its like raaawwwwwwhhhhh kind of.
he has a harsh raspy voice
then I might say Ok, I will, just a minute.

I used to talk to my cats, and once my friend's cat stepped on her phone and speed dialed me! It wasn't until I head the meows that I realized I was talking to my friend's cat! I did think it was strange she wasn't saying anything!

I talk to my cats I'm sure they can understand some of what you say, or at least can recognise a few words. My cats seem to be able to say "want to go out" when they are standing next to the door miaowing to be let out. I know it sounds strange but it really sounds like they are trying to speak. My cats are both very vocal and miaow and me a lot often for no apparent reason.

I don't have a cat, but I do talk to my dog. She usually sits beside me at the computer, and wags her tails. Sometimes if I look at peoples profiles, if there is music playing she sits up, and lays her heaad on the desk. When my fiance is away at work, I enjoy her company. When I talk to her she looks at me like she understands everything that I am saying.

Moomin is a very vocal cat, she will happily *chat* for ages and she responds when I talk to her too. She does love sitting on the desk while I'm working on the computer too

Yes, I talk to my cats. I'm alone with them most of the time, as well, and it's just normal to me to talk to them. Unfortunately, I forget when I have company and talk to the cats when other people are around, too.
Once, when my nephew was visiting, he thought that my husband was talking to me early one morning. He got up and found that my husband was conversing with the cats. He thought it was funny that my husband was carrying on a conversation with the cats.

I also think that animals in general can sense feelings. Talking to your pet, in this case your cat, is actually relaxing I think. They're sweet and attached to their owners once they become more acquainted. I would love to have my own pet cat. I also heard that people who choose cats for pets have strong personality.

I talk to my cat. She is the only other female in the house besides me. Us gals have to stick together even if one of us has 4 legs and fur ( the cat, not me)Ha!Ha! At night she will climb up on the bed and I tell her it's time to go to sleep and she will lay down. She listens better than my kids do:) I never was a cat person until we got Annie. She was suppose to be for our son but she mostly hangs around me. She's great company. I am definitely a cat person now.

I talk to my cat all the time, she also loves to talk back, she meows at me when she wants something, or when she wants attention.
She can also knock on doors when she want in, I live with my parents still and I keep my bedroom door shut alot, so she learned to knock. It's so cute!

Yes, I do. I talk to her like a child. Hello when I come in a I tell her goodbye when I leave. When she jumps on the bed I ask her if she had been a good girl while I'm stroking her. Tell her how pretty she is etc.... I love my cat.
