obviously hollywood is better.
the reason is that they brought best till now.
but the cpmparision is not necessary, as both have been
different till now!
the search for new in bollywood is lacking!
but many best movies have been made in bollywood,
and havent got recognition!

I've never watched any Bollywood movies although a friend of mine was talking about them. They just don't sound like something I'd be interested in.
Hollywood makes some great films, but then again they make some major CRAP also.
I'm also a big fan of indie films!

I love both Hollywood and Bollywood. I love the directness of Hollywood movies where the action gets done with in 90 minutes. But, I equally love the extravaganza of Bollywood where in the songs, costumes, dialogues and sets also contribute enormously. Of late, the Bollywood movies are coming out in pretty high standards unlike the dismal 80s and the early nineties.
In a nutshell, I love both.
Cheers!

I can't really make a choice between the two as they both have their advantages and disadvantages. I love watching Bollywood films and I do tend to watch them more often purely for the fact that it helps me escape reality. Let's face it, Bollywood films are not exactly famous for having realistic storylines are they? I think Bollywood has some extremely talented and good looking stars who I enjoy watching. Although a lot of the films are taking storylines directly from Hollywood or other film industries, I do enjoy Bollywood's take on these films too. The thing that most annoys me about these films though is the excessive amount of song/dance routines in films and the use of comedy as padding in many films - usually with people like Johnny Lever (whom I find extremely annoying)! The films are long enough without needing padding out with silly little side stories which are supposed to do funny. I've not seen many Bollywood comedies which I found REALLY funny.
I have to admit that mostly the only Hollywood films that apply to me are older films. There's just too much violence and bad language in the new films and there's a very small percentage of new films that I actually want to watch. I love old black and white Hollywood films, they were very romantic and elegantly made and had gentle and touching storylines.
I guess from my comments above, I've answered the question posed by the discussion myself - it seems that I prefer Bollywood films in general!
