Do you ever mark best response to discussions? If yes, then after how many responses or how many days of discussion started? One more thing that after having one best response whether you think it that the topic is just wind-up and need no more discussion or addition even you have some better opinion to add. I want to add in some of discussions where some best responses have already been selected.

I still add comments even after the best response has been done, because I am also here to chat about things I am interested in. I mark the best response after I have not had any more comments on it over say 24 hours, if it is a busy discussion, I leave it longer if I have had only one response and it is a good one and answers a query than I mark it.

You mean that nothing will happen either on rating or in earning?

To be honest I don't know, I live in hope that somewhere along the line it works, best ask a long timer on that one :-)

I almost always do give a best response, unless I post a joke or something. I usually wait a couple days before giving it though. I usually respond to every reply I get which keeps the discussion active. After a couple days, I think pick a best response. I do it this way to help encourage good answers. I'm also more likely to respond to discussion that haven't had a best response picked, since the discussion starter is often more interested in having a good discussion then someone who picked their best response in an hour or two... Hope this makes sense :)

Thanks for a realistic approach. Off course if somebody is not marking the best, he is waiting for some best fit.... Have a nice posting!

I usually rate all the discussions with "+"! Only if I found a very stupid response I rate it with"-"!... But that happens very rare!

I try to pick a best response on all my discussions, although sometimes I am spoilt for choice when there are so many wonderful responses to chose from. I generally try to wait a week or so before deciding though.

i choose a best response to every discussion that I start, when I have one to choose. I usually wait at least 24 hours from the last response, before picking a best response and then make a list of the one that I feel are worthy of the award. Then I work from there to pick the best of the best. Even if a best response has been picked if I feel that I can add to the discussion it doesn't stop me from responding as that isn't my goal to get best response but to give added information or a different perspective than what wass already given. In the beginning I was to eager to resolve my discussions and picked a response to soon and found that had I waited I could have chosen better, sadly we can't change once we make the decision.

No people can still post to them. You will find that after you choose a best response, someone almost always brings it back to the top. Usually a new friend that was just added going through your previous discussions. Sometimes they even do better after the best response is picked. I think because so many people rally don't even pay attention to whether it's picked or not. :)

Thanks for your precious views. Still one more thing that having the best response it is "The End" or not.

I don't wrap up discussions. There is always a possibility for better information and a need for new information regardless.

It's all a matter of personal opinion here. I've marked the very first respons and I've waited a week or longer to mark one BR. Keep responding to discussions that have a BR marked. It's always nice to get & here more from my point of view. I choose the response that stands out as the best one that helped me in that discussion. Thanks and have a great day. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

Nope there is no conclusion intil mylot deletes it. I've responded to many topics that already have a best response. Doesn't matter to me. So just keep responding anyhow I say.

Thanks for sharing. After marking the best response does it mean "The conclusion". What would be the impact if we have more discussions un-resolved.

I usually go through my discussions at the end of every week (I've only been on mylot two weeks though). I pick the response that is the most useful and mark it best, everyone else gets a "+". Only one person has come back and thanked me for the "best response" which I thought was very nice.
