This Season not going well

Is anyone else feeling disappointed with this season of CSI? I have watched religiously since it began. There was the tease of something between Sara & Grissom. Then the tease of something between Warrick & Catherine. For some reason, I'm disappointed with this season. I can't believe Grissom crossed the line wtih Sara. Now their entire working relationship seems semi-defined by their romantic inclinations. Also, they married Warrick and dropped both relationships (Cath/Warrick, Warrick/Wife). So far, my favorite episodes have been the ones with Liev Scheiber. Plus, why did Catherine react so violently to the death of Scheiber's character? I'm just feeling lost in it. Is anyone else feeling this way?

You may think the character storylines are not going very well, and I may agree with you there, but the show originally focused on CSI and not the personal relationships of the characters. I think the ongoing storyline of the miniature crime scene models was excellent! It has been a continual thread throughout the season and I think it has been great. It certainly has kept us watching to find out where it is going and what the end result will be.
I don't particularly like them delving into the personal relationships unless they suit the story - like Catherine's father. Grissom and Sara? Don't need it. Don't really like it either. I don't find Sara very appealing in any romantic role. Meanwhile, we've got this handsome hunk in Nick Stokes and have done absolutely NOTHING to show any ladies have any interest in him. What is up with that?
I say stick to the CSI stories and leave the personal relationships out of it.

I sort of agree. We've been given info from the private lives of Catherine, Warrick, Sara and Nick. Grissom is pretty much left alone. Seeing the Sara/Grissom thing unfold isn't exactly working for me. I can't imagine that kind of life for Gris. And like you, I can't imagine Sara in a romantic situation with anyone.
I enjoy the miniature killer story line.

I have been watching the new season, and agree:
The Sara/Grissom romance was a simple tease meant to draw in more watchers.
I cannot tell you how angry I was at the end of last season when they showed Grissom and Sara sharing a room! I stood up and screamed "WHAT?! I can't have just seen that! It's horrible! ACK, Ack, ACCCKK!"
Suffice it to say that I like the Grissom character. Everything about him, from his nerdy kid past to his creepy adult present, makes me smile.
The Sara character, on the other hand irritated me from the moment that she appeared. From her buck-toothed smile, to the tiny shirts, to that disgusting hair cut, I wanted her gone. When she first placed her hand on Grissom, I thought he was going to have a conniption-fit. I know I did.
Sure, Sara can have her fling with Gris. Gris can get his rocks off with Sara, too. But I will never understand a lasting attraction between them, despite how many fans love the idea. Perhaps this stems from the fact that I'm a middle-aged woman, not a hungry teenager. I see it more from Grissom's side. Perhaps he felt a pang of joy, a little lust, and felt really loved for a moment. After that his thoughts should be as they were earlier in the series when he presented the monologue about "Older Men and The Younger Girl, Who Can Ruin Your Reputation and Your Life". He was really thinking out loud there...and I wondered if he would make the leap. So did all of us...but...Sara? She's just not his type. Yuk. Bleh. Phoey.
Unless the season picks up and either closes the relationship or drags it to its final (bad for Grissom) conclusion, I shall stop watching. It's just not as good as it used to be. Sorry, Will. We still love yah, though.

I think the show is better with just the crime stuff and no personal relationships....sure a hint of something personal can be tantalizing, but tossing the hint out and letting the audience run with it is part of the reason you watch every week. Relationships at work is not something you can promote and expect healthy outcomes for your characters.

Grissom went to the East Coast to teacher a series of special lectures.
I liked Liev's character, but he had to die to redeem him from his sordid past.
I think Grissom has always been in love with Sara, but unwilling to cross the boss/employee line (and he's not very good with people anyway).
Don't know about the rest of it.
