Mylot Glitches!!! I have a GREAT suggestion!!!

Okay I have seen and started a discussion about Best Responses disappearing in this happening I received 3 resolved discussions back in my unresolved discussions, which means that many of you are to. I have lost 4 best responses over the past 4 weeks.
So my suggestion to everyone is to go back and thank the poster for the award, this way if the discussion comes back the poster knows who they gave it to the first time. At least I wish that's what I wish the members had done for me, I felt terrible having to try and figure out who I had awarded them to and only 1 I knew for sure. Although on some maybe you received a better response and are happy that you get a chance to pick again. LOL
So I guess I'm asking which do you prefer to give it to your original choice, or pick all over again? I don't know about all of you but it's a lot of work to go through all of those responses again and narrower down to a few and then have to decide which one to award it to again. I personally would like to give it to the person that I originally picked.

I agree. I'm not sure if I lost any of the best responses that I had given to others, but I know that I lost at least one that was given to me. I had thanked the poster and was told that mylot must have taken the best response away from me. I thought I must have done something wrong until I read your post. I was glad to see that it wasn't me.

Did the poster tell you that? It's a glitch that mylot is aware of and is trying to fix. I don't know if they will be able to reset it or not. Not sure how all that technical stuff works. Many people have lost best responses and had resolved discussions return to the unresolved discussions area. That was actually how I noticed that mine were missing when I got those discussions back. :)

Most likely I would pick the same one. If I pick one it is usually something that really appeals to me. I almost never get a post later that I wish I could switch my best response to.

I only had the problem on my first discussions where I picked to soon. Before I had friends to see my discussions. On those a few I wish they would have been the ones that I got back. LOL Otherwise I have plenty to choose from and actually have several from each discussion worthy of best responses. :)

Which leads us to the question if best responses really mean anything!? Do we get paid extra for them or anything?

While I don't think that you get paid for it, I had wondered of it enhanced our earnings when you received them, it appears thats not the case. Not really sure.

LOL, yes you do, after the first time that it happened to me I started keeping track, and I lost 2 more this week. I like receiving them, I so don't want to loose any. It's not that I try to get them when responding but certainly is a nice feeling when you get one on a discussion that you really put a lot of heart into. :)

I'm sure I have already said that I think it is only polite to say thank you. Not only does a BR make you (at least it does me) feel good it also helps increase your reputation and earnings. So I always say thank you.

Thank you whiteheather, my rule had been that if they had left a comment to my response I had been thanking them for the honor of best response, but if there had been no reply then I skipped. That was also when I noticed that I received a new one.
Thanks for your input. :) I think from now on I will add it to my list of things to do from now on. :)

I'm glad that you haven't had any problems with it. It's isolated also.

Although I have no idea if any of my Best Responses have disappeared, I do appreciate the fact that you pointed out it would be nice to thank those who gave us the best response to their discussion. I've started by posting a thank you to the first ten on my best response list. I'll be sure to do at least ten every day. It certainly never hurts to say "thank you" to someone.
I think that when I first started on myLot, I gave out a best response too soon in many instances. On some of my discussions that only had a few responses, I went ahead and picked one...then later along came a better response, but there was no way for me to change it. All I could do was give them a "+" for their response. All in all, I guess I'd like to stick with my first choice anyway.

Thanks for the best response, beaniefanatic. I've now posted a thank you to my first 60 BRs. Boy, this is a long job, but I'm thankful for each one of them.

Congratulations I'm sure for you that it's a much bigger job than mine. Your very welcome. :)
I have gone through the last 40 BR's so I still have more than half to check and thank accordingly.

I feel the same way about a few of my earliest posts that I was to soon to pick a best response. Mainly from seeing discussions about it I felt pressured to pick quickly. Now I know it's up to me and their is no time limit I can wait until I feel that my discussion was resolved. Although I try not to have more than 10 discussions without a best response at anyone time. I prefer to keep it at 5, but that's not always possible. :)
My rule of thank you was that if the poster left me a response to my response then I said thank you, now I have been going back and thanking. I figure I have about half of them to find, to bad they weren't grouped together, LOL. It's going to take quite a bit of time to go through all those. :)

I feel that it's only fair to give it to the same person although I'm sure that not everyone feels that way. :)

I think that is a brilliant idea beanie, it surely is a great help in remarking. I personally haven't had this problem (or so I think) cause I have more than 150 Best responses, even if a couple went missing I wouldn't know. And I haven't had resolved discussions coming up as unresolved either. But to the ones who are having a problem it will help.

I wish I was one that wasn't having a problem. I checked my best responses everyday to see if I got more than the day before. A way of judging the quality of my responses I guess. So I notice both time right away that they were missing. Then the resolved discussions coming back that was awful.
I'm working on going through and thanking now. I figure that I have thanked about half of them along the way. My rule of thumb was that if the left me a reply then I said thank you! :)
