You know, some people just save it in the bank or straight to shopping. Some people gave it to their parents. Its your own money! What did you do to your first ever salary/wage? oh..and how much was it?

I can't remember how much I was paid...too far back! But I remember the first check was mine. After that I gave my mother "rent" money and most would go into the bank for insurance and whatever expenses I had. I would keep some for myself but would bank a good portion every week.

Geezzz...my first pay check was way too far back as well.....about 20 years ago? Was still in school and pocket money from mom & dad was too little...well we weren't doing very well then. Got my first hard earned money working at a yoghurt counter. Very exciting....felt so empowered, bought a couple of clothes, kept some in my pocket and gave the rest to mom. She didn't take it, although I knew she'd actually could do with a little extra. Well, went to the grocery and just bought stuff for the family. Never stopped working part time since then while still studying. Of course, after that, into adulthood, got a proper job and mom now willingly accepts my monthly gesture. Dad has passed on....

Malaysia Banknotes - This is a recent Malaysia Bank Notes of RM50 ( Malaysian Ringgit 50 )
My first ever job and salary was below 100 dollars ( in my country's currency -- Ringgit Malaysia)for giving tuition to a primary school student and I am at that time, a fifth grade high school student. I kept the money all for my own expenses cos my dad was jobless then and mom was not getting much from babysitting. So, we have to earn for our own expenses.

This is easily answered for me. I just started my first job and am making like $5.90 an hour, so I made roughly $240 at the end of the two weeks I worked. Some money, huh?

My first salary? That was way way back 1989. my parents didnt get it. they told me to keep it coz it was the fruit of my hard-work. one thing ive learned, it was so hard to buy non-sense items when money came from your own sweat!

I bought a 14k gold chain. I still have it. And I think I gave my mom some money to "help out."

I got my first salary around 2 years ago and it was quite a lot to me! It was around RM600(malaysian Ringgit). It'd be around $157++. Well, I went shopping. I bought lots of stuff for myself and for my family. I spent most of it and I really regretted it now. But, at least it was worth. Maybe. I was excited earning for the first time and I hope to earn more later.
