Sometimes a movie comes along that just makes me think....i mean really really think about life and how seemingly seperate happenings are actually all connected...Perfect example of a movie like that would be Crash with Sandra Bullock....FABULOUS movie....but there have been others that I dont think got nearly enough recognition....11:14 would be one of them..another fabulous movie that shows how we really do connect even when we dont know it...and I just finished watching a movie called 21 Grams with Sean Penn, Naomi Watts and Benicio Del Toro *sp* ....WOW what a movie!! Does anyone have any others to suggest? Have any of you seen any of these movies and if so what did you think of them??

I haven't seen these movies...but I am wanting to see Premonition . It also looks like a really good movie that would make one think. Another one that I really want to see that would make one think, Deja Vu with Densel Washington. He is such a great actor! And the movie looks so good and with the previews already has me scratching my head going, Huh? Here is a link to a trailer if you don't know what it is.... http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809275011/trailer

Yeh Deja Vu is good, even when you think you've got it worked out it surprises you. I like a film that keeps you thinking right to the end and beyond.......

Okay, I know it's kind of a romance, but I really like Sliding Doors for this reason. IT really made me think about what would happen if even something really tiny changed in the events of your life. I havne't seen Crash, but now that you've mentioned it, I really want to.

Samual L. Jackson & John Travolta - Samual L. Jackson & John Travolta in PULP FICTION
It's hard to remember any at the moment other than Pulp Fiction and Babel. I didn't like Babel though - but it's like what you're talking about. I loved Crash and I thought 21 Grams was pretty good too. I usually like movies like this though. Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies:)

I think I've mentioned it before, but if you haven't seen the movie "Dangerous Beauty", go out and get it right this very now! It's brilliant. It has laughs, tears, fear, longing, grace, and beauty...AND it's a true story!! *sigh* need to go and search in my videos for my copy...

I think the most recent example of this filmmaking approach being pulled off successfully is the Oscar-nominated film, "Babel." The film takes three strong storylines and really connects them vividly. The beauty of it is that the storylines are in separate parts of the world making the connection a global one. The film features magnificent performances from Adriana Barazzi and Rinko Kikuchi. I also thought Brad Pitt and Gael Garcia Bernal were strong here. Watch for the upcoming film "The Air I Breathe," another film that's going to take this approach. It has Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Bacon and a host of others. It looks promising.
