You really don't have anything to worry about with e-bay. It is a very well known place. I have a friend that sells stuff from his business on there and makes about $200 a week. E-bay has very good security, and anybody caught doing anything illegal is turned in to the authorites. They are a very secure site. If you have problem with somebody that is selling, you can deal with them, and if that doesn't solve your problem, then you contact e-bay directly and they will solve the problem. I have never once in 5 years had any problems!!!
