I feel like we're really in a lunchtime rut with my three-year-old daughter. It's not even her fault - she's not at all a picky eater - but mine, for needing quick and easy foods for lunchtime. We're very often running in the mornings - playgroup, library, errands, etc. - so by the time we get home, it's time to eat RIGHT. NOW. So, our standards are chicken tenders, fish sticks, peanut butter sandwiches (with or without jelly), and turkey sandwiches - any of these with sides of pickles, veggies, fruit or string cheese (her favorites.) But I'm really burnt out on these and feel like I should be feeding her healthier things than the chicken and fish sticks. Any ideas, please? "Quick" is the ONLY requirement!!

one of my daughters favorite quick meals is grilled cheese sandwitches. she also loves soup. we also make these pizza bagels that she loves, just cut a bagel in half, put tomato sauce or spagetti sauce and some grates cheese and put in oven until the cheese melts. you could even add a few veggies on top.
my daughter also loves wraps. so get a wrap and put tuna in it, or cheese and coldcuts.

Something that I gave my kids today - Mini Pizzas. Take an english muffin, cut it in half, spread pizza sauce on it, add shredded cheese, and any other toppings you want. Place in a toaster oven long enough to melt the cheese and slightly toast the muffin. YUMMY!!!

I don't have any new ideas other than those listed but I do have two favorite webiste Betty Crocker and Kraft Foods they have some great simple quick kid friendly foods. My daughter and I go to the websites and she picks the foods she wants to make for the week. She is generally in charge of one dinner and two lunches for the family.

when my grandchildren are here we do same as you or grilled cheese sandwiches, cold cheese sandwiches or "crabby patties" - sausage/egg/cheese on a biscuit from the freezer, my 4 year old grandson calls them crabby patties because that's what Sponge Bob Square Pants eats and they look a lot like them.

You could always do breakfast foods for lunch. Say pancakes wrapped around sausage or hot dogs. how about apples to dip in yogart. You could do up lunches in the afternoon while she naps if she still does. You could cut up her fresh veggies and have them handy for the wek. If you change the water often they will keep a good long time. Make a tuna salad with apple, raisins or grapes.

My son absolutly loves these. We make sandwich wraps in all shapes and forms..lol I take a floured tortilla or a pita bread and we fill it with different things. Some examples would be...cream cheese & cucumber (he likes the flavoured cream chese) Chilcken salad (I always shred different veggies in it like carrots & celery)we even put peanut butter and bananas in them. Another way I have found that makes everything more exciting is that I let me son help make the sandwiches..which he just loves doing.
Another idea that just came to my head. Take two eggo wafals toast them, spread peanut better and put sliced apples in between. Close and cut like a sandwhich. This is something diff and tastes great. You can also make french toast with a little twist. Take two pieces of bread and make a peanut butter and jam sandwhich. Then dip both sides of the bread in a french toast mix and grill them. Another fav of my 2.5 year old!

My children when they were that age loved: spaghetti o's, yogurt, cubes of hard cheeses and fruit, baked potato (5 minutes in the microwave) with brocolli and cheese on it (or any other toppings), and of course chopped carrots, cauliflower and brocolii with 'dippy dip' (what they called ranch dressing!) and their alltime favorite....egg salad!! They begged for me to make egg salad sandwiches! (they also just liked eating the hard boiled eggs) I would do the hardboiled eggs or egg salad the evening before.

Well, there's a ton of snacky sorts of things one can eat for lunch. You could always take dry cereal and put it in a bag and take it with you. That's what we do when we're on the go with my little brother and sister. A slight negative with this is that they seem to like to throw the cereal pieces in the air and try to catch them with their mouths--which doesn't always work!
Mini pizzas. Take slices of bread and put them on a cookie sheet. Put pizza sauce or tomato sauce on the bread, then cover it with a slice of cheese. Stick it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes. Total prep time should be about 10 minutes or so.
Ramen noodles are awesome! And they only take about 5 minutes to make!
My grandma taught me how to make these delicious omelettes that are very quick...about 15 minutes. It's not messy at all, and everyone who has tried them so far says that they're the best omelettes in the world! Take two eggs, whip em up real quick, and stick em in a sandwich baggie. Then put whatever you want. For me, I always have cheese (a must!) and either turkey or ham lunchmeat. Just tear it into little pieces and stick it all in there. Close the bag and put it in a small pot of boiling water. Let it boil for 13 minutes (timing is very important; you don't want the cheese to burn, but you don't want the eggs to be runny). Take it out, cut off the top of the bag, flip it onto a plate, and there you have it: the perfect omelette! Tips: You might want to start the water boiling after you put the eggs in and before you add anything else. Then the water should be boiling at right about the time you're ready to put it all in. Also, keep an eye on the bag while it's in the boiling water. Mine always seem to want to stick to the outside of the pot. Oh yeah, and make sure that you drape the top of the bag over the pot...that'll make getting the bag out easier. Forks are very handy on this one!
Grilled cheese sandwiches. You can put meat in it too. And if you don't have time for a stove job, just stick cheese (and meat if you want it) in between two pieces of bread and pop it into the microwave for about a minute. Then voila! It's ready to eat!
I like to eat corn dogs, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and chicken fingers for lunch. Easy to make, and absolutely delicious! Also, you can try popcorn shrimp and tater tots. My little brother and sister love those, and they only take about 15 minutes to make. Or, you can always eat leftovers from the night before :). Or, of course, you can always go with the classic cold sandwich. You could always put a twist on that, though, and make a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Those are awesome! Not to mention the health benefits. Then there's always just plain fruit with a dip of some kind.
Hope that helps!

Chef Boyardee also makes these little snacky ravioli/spaghetti/spaghetti-o's thingies. They are single helping servings of great lunch foods. All you have to do is keep it in the little container and stick it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Then you just grab a spoon for fork (depending on what it is) and you can go with it! The container is completely disposable, and if you get plastic forks and spoons, you can just throw it all away when you're done with it. Very quick and efficient, and they come in all different flavours, so you can have something different every day of the week.

Try making grilled cheese using margarine instead of butter and putting tomato slices inside. i happen to love this! When it is cold outside, you can always heat up a can pr Progreso soup. i don't recommned Campblee's soup. It is concentrated and less nutritious and of lower quality. Your deli in your supermarket should have different sorts of salads ranging from gargen salads to pasta salads, etc.

Be glad she will eat. My 21 month old hardly eats lately. so when he does I try to make sure its healthy- not junk. I usually end up eating a Lean Cuisine.
Some ideas my older kids like are pigs n blankets made with cheese, hotdogs and croissant rolls. So a side of grapes or a fruit she likes.

How about putting different fillings in tortilla shells and making wraps? Would she eat veggies and dip? Peanut butter/celery, cream cheese/celery, egg salad, rice cakes and peanut butter, hummus and pita chips, a gardenburger, fruit kabobs, a pickle with a piece of ham or turkey wrapped around it....even bean & cheese burritos.
