For me personally, I like him because without him, I don't think Malaysia will achieve what it has today. Although there still other issues that need to be settled, but I think throughout his years as Prime Minister of Malaysia, he really contribute a lot. So how about you, what you think of him?

He's a capable and great leader, no doubt about that. One of his greatest contribution to Malaysia would be his policy and strategy to change the mentality of the people. He even criticised his own race although many people despise him for it. His words are true, and he was fair to all races. That's why many chinese leaders are supportive of him. Just compare him to Pak Lah. Lol I'm not criticising Pak Lah, just that Pak Lah has his own way of doing things that somehow doesn't seem right for the economy. He practically stopped all kind of huge mega projects in order to save money. But his actions was fruitful though - Malaysia overcome its deficit problem. Now, with Mahathir, we don't get that. He spent loads of money with mega projects. With that, he managed to bring in a lot of foreign investments. Not a bad achievement I suppose.

all leaders have their own way leading their very own comrades. Mahathir is good in one n lack in another. just like other leaders. btw, none is perfect. to me, his biggest contribution is the mindset transition among malaysian. we used to be very afraid to the western but no more now. rite?

Yeah, that is his contribution. But besides that, one also need to accept the other side that he failed to do something. He need to be well aware of his mistake and learn from it. If not he will keep repeating the same mistake all his life.

I like him as he have contributed so much thing to malaysia in his era. Personally I like he character and his way of thinking. He is thinking ahead of the time and this is what we really need in our prime minister mind. Of course some peoples say that he is greedy actually because we know some of the project always have some connection to his children, but what makes me admire on him is the way he is thinking for malaysia which finally have managed to makes malaysia stood up as one of the well known countries in the world with the development which he have in our country.

Personally, I admire his leadership capabilities. He guided Malaysia and transformed the economy from being agro-based to industry-based. Without him, Malaysia won't be what it is today. Although he wasted a lot of money of mega projects, his foresight and grand visions helped propel Malaysia to be a major force amongst the developing countries.

I really admire him. He is the one who brings Malaysia to the modern era. Without him, Malaysia wont be as of today. I was really suprised when he resigned as Prime Minister in 2003.
