I really need to get on the bandwagon and start drinking more water and less fruit juices and soda. I have tried a few of the flavored waters out there and am pretty impressed by them. The one I am drinking right now is Glaceau Vitamin Water, flavor of dragonfruit. It is delicious and packed with Vitamin c and the "B" vitamins too. Any suggestions of what other great tasting waters are out there? Please let me know the brand name and the flavor that you recommend. Thanks!

I love Crystal Light. It is in a powder form, and you can make a pitcher of it for drinking at home. They also sell "on the go" packets that you can pour into bottled water while you are not at home. My favorite flavors are Pink Lemonade, Iced Tea, and Pineapple Orange.

I did not know that they made on the go packets! Wow, how convenient. So you just shake it in your water bottle? I have had Crystal Light in the past and find it very tasty. But I cannot remember, is it calorie free or sugar free or both?

Yes, not bad at all! In fact some of the flavored waters, like the one I was drinking last night when I posted this topic, has 50 calories per 8 ounce serving. And it also contains 13 grams of sugar per serving-not nearly as bad as soda and juice, but the Crystal Light option is defintiely better. Plus rating for ya-thanks!

Yes, you just pour the packet into your bottle and shake it up. They are all sugar free, and they have 5 calories per 8 oz. serving. That's not so bad...if you drink 5 glasses a day, it will only be 25 calories!

So you buy the off brands and they are just as good? I have not had an off brand of flavored water. Citrus...I will remember that next time I go shopping. What type of citrus is most like? Lemony or orangy?

Yes,I always buy the off brands, only because I pay 12.99 for a case of 24 for the name brand and I can get the no name for 3.99....Citrus is the best,I don't like the lemon flavored at all.....besides,if yu read the label, the citrus has more vitamins than the lemon

i do not know about these waters since i am not in the states, but usually those wazters contains hidden "subject" such as sugar and other stuff that they do not say they do. There are ways to make your own water, Just put water in a can and slice whatever you want into it, leave it in the fridge for a few hours and you will be amazed at how fast the water picks up the taste - this way you also KNOW that it is more healthy =)

You mean like putting fruit in the water and letting it sit that way? Well there is not anything hidden in American foods with labels. All contents/ingredients/ and vitmains and minerals are posted on the side on a label of any prepackaged food. That is the law here. So as long as I read the labels, I will not the sugars, etc. But thank you for the idea of making "fresh" flavored water! I willhave to give it a try.

Quite honestly I tend to purchase no name flavored water a large majority of the time. I find it to be a great price most of the time, but also.. It usually has a lot of flavor in it as well. I know that I usually will purchase this lime flavor from my local grocery store.. And it is just a flavor that I have never tasted ever before.. It's very delicious yet refreshing to drink each time.. And it gives it a nice little change instead of always having to have just plain water all of the time I have found.
I also have purchased crystal light. They give you little packets to put in individual water bottles or you can even make a pitcher out of these little packets as well. I know I like using crystal light as you can make it on your own instead of having to buy it already prepared for you. I usually will buy some bottled water & I will put it in the freezer or even the fridge for a little bit.. Until it's cooled to my liking. And then I will add one of the crystal light packets to the bottled water.
I love the strawberry kind as I love how light it tastes.. And how it's full of flavor all at the same time to. And it's also low in calories to.. I know a lot of the flavored water you can buy already prepared for you can be full of calories or even sodium.. I like crystal light due to the reason that it is low in calories, but also isn't gross either.. It instead is full of flavor that one can't resist! I truly recommend trying something such as this if you haven't already..
I know that one of my girlfriends has tried a water called.. "O Flavored Unsweetened Water." She says the flavor is really good & she has even allowed me to have a sip or two.. And I have found it's full of flavor to. Though I honestly haven't had a bottle all to myself. But you could look for something such as this.. From what I've tried it's not all to bad flavor wise as well.
In conclusion.. Those are the only things I can recommend to you.. As I know these are the ones I tend to turn to the most.. If anything maybe try to sample a few different brands & flavors & go from there.. You will eventually come across a flavor that tickles your fancy trust me.. I know it took me a while to find a brand I liked. And I find the no name brand bottled water tastes a lot better than some of the well known brands quite honestly.
I do agree that bottled flavored water & even just water in general.. Is a lot better then soda & sometimes juice.. But just be careful to read the back of some of these flavored bottled waters.. As some can be rather high in sodium or sometimes even calories.. Some of them can be worse than soda I have found.. I just thought I'd throw that out there due to my personal experiences..
I know that the ones I have listed are my absolute favorites.. I say experiment a bit with a few different brands.. And you are bound to find one that you really do enjoy! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

Huh-I never really thought of Crystal Light, but I forgot that it is a "diet" drink, so it is low on calories and sugar. Good reminder! I just don't want all the extra sugar intake from soda and juice. I am not cutting it out of my diet, moreso trying to limit it to at vey most 1 drink a day each, to be good once every other day or few days. I have not tried too many of the flavored waters yet. I am still doing my taste test experiments to see which ones are good or not. Thank you very much for your input!

I understand you can by powdered flavors and flavor your own water. For myself, I prefer just plain water with ice in it. I used to drink a lot of soda, and one day I realized it didn't really taste that much better than water and that water was much healthier. Now I refill my own bottle of water from the tap and I not only have a healthy beverage, but also an inexpensive one. (I read where they had done a study on bottled water and found out that it really isn't any purer or tastier than tap water.)

Well we are lucky to have great tests done on water, and even luckier that we can drink it right out of the tap! I am very interested in the drink powders to flavor water. (Not Koolaid right?) Is it new? I have not heard of it yet!

I agree with you, my husband stopped drinking soda and fruit juices and he lost 22 pounds. His skin looks healthier and he tells me that he feels better than he ever has. He drinks about 5 bottles a day.

Wow! All that added sugar and calories kept an extra 22 pounds on him...amazing. Well I will not kick the habit of juice and soda all together, but limit it to one a day for each. So there is alot of fluids I need to make up-and the best bet is water. Even flavored water is still much lower in calories and sugar. Does he drink just straight water or does he try the flavored waters too?

I got some of this flavored water a couple of months ago when it went on sale and thought it might be something different for my three year old to take with her on long drives and was surprised when I tried it at how good it tasted . I found it tasted a lot like juice instead of water . I was more surprised as I don't like the taste of water at all and really liked this .
The kind I got was Propel berry fruit and the grape and orange , they were all good .

Oh yes, I have had Propel water, and it was very good. Is it just water though, or is it fortified with electrolytes like Gatorade. (I am pretty sure Gatorade make sit, right?)

My favorite flavored water is the Vitamin Water with the lemonade flavor. I alos like the dragonfruit one as well. I like drinking these when I want something sweeter than normal water but I don't want to drink pop.

When I posted this discussion the other night, that is exactly what I was drinking, and therefore that gave me the idea that there must be many more options out there! I did see a citrus flavored one at the store, but maybe it was lemonade. In any case, I will try that one coming up soon too.
