Are you a snacker?

I have never been much of a snacker, but since I quit my job to stay home with my little one, I have become one. I breastfeed and at first the weight was just dropping off, then it kind of just hung there, and now I have actually gained a few pounds. So I kept a log of everything I was eating all day for a couple of days. Wow, I seem to munch all day long. Not always healthy stuff either. Fruit, veggies, popcorn, cheese, nuts, sncak cakes, granola bars, beef jerky, cookies. You name it and over the last 4 or 5 days I have managed to snack on it at one point or another. I dont really eat meals during the day, and I thought I was doing okay at eating healthy, but my little log tells me differently. I am going to make an effort to correct it. How about you? Do you snack a lot?

Im a snacker. I have learned how to be a healthy snacker though. Or else ill eat alot of junk like fruit snacks lol. If im wanting a snack ill grab a handful of pretzels or some fruit to eat. Even some popcorn isnt a bad snack. I also try to drink something before i eat anything. Sometimes you feel hungry or snack-ish when you really are thirsty :)

I think that is the problem. I started out keeping healthy snacks on hand, and I still do. But my husband loves junk food, so there is plenty of that too, and it seems so much easier to get into. LOL. I find myself snacking even if I am not hungry. I think if I can stop doing that, and eliminate the junk food, I will be doing pretty good.

I usually prepare an evening meal, but with a little one, I just dont get time to sit down and eat breakfast or lunch, so I tend to snack on whatever is handy instead.

LOL I snack all day long if i can. Not always healthy stuff for me either but I find your right because i was never a snacker before i had my son and was working but now Im at home all the time i tend to eat more I suppose. Im not too fussed about it as Im fairly little. Im sure it will catch up with me oneday lol ;)

Yes, I have a help desk job that in between calls if I'm not busy I find myself snaking. To stop this I just need to quite brining snaks to work and if I do bring healthy ones. Not the junk I usally have around.

I keep healthy snacks on hand, I just have junk around too. I think I will be okay if I eliminate the junk.

I've often read that many smaller meals are better than 3 big ones.
So maybe snacking is not such a bad thing.
I always try to have healthy snacks however. If you stick to fruit and other healthy low fat food, snacking does not have to be a bad thing.
Its when you get into the cake and cookies and ice cream because you are depressed or something, that snacking can become bothersome.

I have read that too. I keep healthy snacks around, but there is junk here too. My husband loves his junk food. I think if I can eliminate the junk food I will be in good shape.
