Childhood goes pretty fast or at least mine did. I remember wishing the time away, Now I pretty much wish it back. The care free days, I love my current life and how it's spanning but I can't help be reflect on memories as a kid and wished I was that age again.
One thing I'm hoping to teach my son is to make the most of his. (I'm sure he probably won't listen because I did the same thing, I ignored my grandfather when he said "there's nothing quite like childhood). Although for me I'm concerned with today's children as most dress a lot older and even act like it. (the acting is okay) although the memories for as being a child was all about having fun.
Ramble over; Do you wish your childhood back and are concerned about parents who don't encourage their children to savour the childhood years? (seems most are happy with young girls acting like teens and boys getting into fights and smoking)
It's just crazy in my opinion,

I NEVER wished I was older! As a kid, I CLUNG to my childhood and wished it would never end. Somehow I knew i was having the time of my life and was really going to miss it when I got older. I knew there was nothing better than the carefree days of being a kid... going to bed on time and being in before the streetlights were on was nothing compared to paying bills and taxes and all that stuff. I'd love to be a kid again and have nothing to do but homework and play all the time.

Cassidy;
This is the first time I've ever known anyone not to wish their childhood away. I wished I hung onto mine but we all have the process of doing new things and one is looking forward to being grown up. (either a little or to much)
Kudos,
~Joey

Indeed.
I think children around 5-10 should just enjoy the time. It's amazing to see how many act as if they're teens, at first I thought it was funny. although as a parent I'm concerned because with everyone else mainly doing this the things like going swimming after school is being replaced by hanging on street corners lighting up.
Just crazy.
Cheers lols!

I do not wish for my childhood to be back as it was the worst moments of my life and my parents had a difficult time finding a good school for me where kids would not treat me so poorly and put me down because of being half Chinese. I would not mind bringing my high school years back but nothing before then.

Oh yes the amount of 'oldies' who used to drum it in to me that school was the most important part of my life! I hated school with a passion. My childhood was not that happy and I was either bullied or spent most of it alone. I couldn't wait to grow up and start earning. No I don't wish I had my childhood back, but life goes very very fast I admit and I guess kids will always want to rush to grow old and most when they are will wish they hadn't got so old so quickly!

Same here buddy.
I hated school because most of the teachers killed the fun and loved to be grumpy.
Valuable points here. Most will probably wish some points of childhood back and thanks for responding!

I would like my youth back in terms of age but not my life. I was not a happy child and I would not want to relive my experiences. I actually would prefer to be in my 30's again, that would be wonderful, but of course we can't

I'm sure I'll be wishing to be in my teens when it goes so I can relate to your point. Childhood isn't always easy, I know a few people who are glad it's over and I feel sorry for them because they didn't get a fun care free chance.
Thanks for sharing carol.

Bravo!
It's all about enjoying life =)
Time goes slow and fast when we forget about it, although now I'm nineteen you're right it seems to be going a lot quicker.
Cheers,

Yeah, those were the days of real good memories, play, and high times. Never thought of how life will be, just years passed away and now I realize to fulfill dreams for my future.
I too wish to give the best to my kids, rather kid. Have nice times!

yea it's true childhood really goes pretty fast and you cant stop it.but now i'm still a young adult all i can say is i treasure these memories i have now and enjoy my life as it is..if your still a child don't act like teen act as your age just enjoy ur age because at some point you will get to the stage that your going to be a teenager so you just have to wait because if you don't enjoy ur childhood then you'll regret it because you didn't experience what a child should experience.

I share with your thoughts. And would like to add in that, its good to cherish those dreams of childhood days, but to even cherish more on things you have now, your son, your wife, family, career, MYLOT.COM (joking).. The list goes on and on...
What is important is to cherish and enjoy that minute in your life. Now when you do that, your kid will pick from you to cherish life, act on it and be a better person.
Children these days, pick up things fast and where do they learn from, mostly from their parents and friends.
