What does one do when they have a lot of garage sale items and they want to have a garage sale, but they live in a apartment?

Ask the owners of the building if it is ok to have a garage sale in the front yard. Get other tenants to join in with you maybe once a year and make it an annual affair. I think your chances of getting permission to do it would be greatly improved if several of the other tenants were eager to have a joint garage sale.

I agree with ironstruck....plus the more stuff you have the better your sale will be.People tend to stop more often when you have variety of things.I know you think you got a lot....but once you get it out there it's never as much as you thought.

when i lived in an apartment and wanted to have a garage sale, i just asked my grandmother if i could set it up in her front yard. So try to see if a family member will let you use their yard, or if not if you have an little area in front of ur apartment builing ask your landlord if you can set up there.

The people near me just put up tables anywhere around near their apartments, car park or anywhere, good luck with it if you go ahead with it....

Contact the building manager. Go through the channels, maybe even see if other neighbors would like to do this. Maybe a building of sales down in the parking lot or something. Maybe your local church would be willing to set up a bazaar is enough were interested. Good luck with this. There is always freecycle and Ebay!!

In California people just put the stuff out in front of the apartment. It was more like a sidewalk sell. See if you can do that or if there is an abandoned, yet safe, parking lot nearby that you can set-up in. Or, if you have any family or friends that live in a house, see if they will let you use their garage. They may even have some items to add to your sell and they can make some money as well.

Well, I had a garage sale at my house & invited all my apartment dwelling friends to bring stuff. The only thing I asked was for them to come help set up and run the thing - worked great. Another time I had one at my mom's (because her place was much easier to access than my place is.) If you (or they) know someone with a yard/garage, perhaps they can ask to hold it at that place - just make sure that you impact the hosts as little as possible - only going to the bathroom if you need to, don't offer the house for trying on clothes & such. Many times people will let you if you do all the work, and maybe let them put some of their stuff out with yours. Now, we are talking friends or family, not some strangers!

I live in an apartment and we're having a garage sale this Saturday for half a day. The apartment managers sent out fliers to let us know when so we could get our stuff together. They will set us up under the carports in the parking lot & have us sort of grouped together so anyone interested can see everything there together. This will be my first one, so I don't know how it'll turn out, but I'd be happy to let you know once it's done.

You could also put items in a consignment shop and not do a garage sale. Just an option. Ebay is another option. It all depends on the type of items you have and the time that you have.
