In the near future, do you think almost everyone will be using a moblie phone than a laptop or personal computer? Our technologies nowadays seem to tell us that everything is possible. In fact, there are already mobile phones today that are Microsoft powered. My mobile phone couple of years ago was Smarrt Amazing Phone and it's Microsoft powered phone. It functions like a mini computer but has only an internal memory of 7MB. So I bought a 128 MB Memory Card to add up to its internal memory. Yet, it only took me over a year to use it. During those times, touch screen phones became rampant also in the market but I just couldn't afford to buy one because it's a lot expensive. They also function as a mini computer. With all these in hand, do you think there will come a time wherein using personal computers and laptops become obsolete and mobile phones which can also function like computers will prevail? WHat do you think?:)

In this case, future is always bright. Right now I can't say any thing like mobile will be replacing the laptops. But let me tell u, our desktop computers which v r using today will be vanished 4 sure in the future bcoz of reliability & flexibility of the laptops.

I believe this will not happen. Because when the handphone could be developed to the next stage where it is as powerful as our current computer, then the computer technology is at another higher stage to support the rapid developing and improving software. Futhermore, they will be plenty of heavy software which require powerful hardware to execute it. But as for multimedia purposes, yes i believe handphone will take over computer in the very near future.

Yes, they are already here. Nowadays, we can use phones for computer tasks like emailing, surfing, even applications like Word or Excel. Why, we could even listen to the radio and watch TV with them now! ;-)

That's exactly my main point. Since computer tasks can now be done like those that you've just mentioned, I really think time will come that computers will soon be obsolete and laptops would eventually lose its power too. Maybe not 10 years after. But probably 30 or more years after. :) Thanks for the reply :)

My Sony Ericson P910i - touchscreen
I think laptop will be around for coming years as well as desktop computers because of it's memory capacity and the internet charge as well. I have a mobile phone that really function as a computer and I love it because I can access anytime to my email but the charge per surf is ohh!! so costly and it was not advisable to use that features lol!!!
