have you bought something off ebay and realised when you recieved it it was the biggest mistake you made buying it,or was it a good buy, did it cost you a lot or did you get a bargain? have you sold things on ebay and if so did you get a good price.

My first experience with ebay I bought a surround sound for my BF for this past christmas. I was so very disappointed with it. For one there is no remote control and the other is that the wires are too short to hang up the 5 speakers so we have to keep them all right near the tv instaed of surrounding the sound! I guess I lived and learned with this one. Next surrond sound i purchase will have wireless speakers and a remote!

I know somone who bought a mobile phone for €100. It was a great phone and she thought she was getting a great deal but when she got the package it was only a peice of paper with a picture of the phone on it. She wasn't too happy.

I've bought and sold on eBay and only once did I feel that I got rooked, but it was my own fault for not reading the description of the product more carefully. The seller was completely honest with what the product was, but I was mainly going off the picture and was in a hurry! Not a great idea... always take your time and really know what you're bidding on. Also, always look at the seller's reputation. I'm sure you all know this, but it is important to not buy from anyone with at least a 93% in my opinion anyway.
There's a post on http://mommyspace.blogspot.com/ with some great tips on buying and selling on eBay. Some are pretty good!

When I first joined eBay I bid for and won a lovely gothic mirror, it cost me more than it should have done but I got caught up with the bidding. When it arrived it was nothing like as nice as the picture showed it to be. It was damaged and dirty and a lot smaller than I thought too.
I did sell a designer top on eBay and it made £42, not a bad price really

thankyou for the responce, yes i found that sometimes the pictures of items available may be a catalogue shot or one taken when the item was new i usually ask questions from the buyer. Ive had a good deal so far with ebay but i tend to stay away from sellers with more than two of the same item i always check the sellers ratings and wont buy from anyone with less that 95% good feedback

I brough hubby a beautiful tapestry wall hanging of King Arthur for a christmas present. I saw one for sale in a shop that wasn't nearly as nice for £190, so i looked on ebay, and found a beautiful one in America for £75 which included shipping to UK. Definately my biggest bargain, and it looked even better that the picture of it.
I had a very happy hubby!

Once, I bought 100 button pins for 50 US dollars. Sooooooo stupid; I ended up liking only about 10 of them. I also bought a lot of clothes on ebay but many things didn't fit right. I still had a few items up until a few months ago.
I sold a bit on ebay, clothes, but didn't make enough to continue.

A bargain at ebay is no longer a reality.
Since ebay stacked up its listing fees many sellers have gone over to ebid.net AND are selling thier items cheaper there as they no longer nned to pay listing fees - ebid.net is free to list - the seller passes this saving to the buyer.
Also because ebid.net is less established than ebay you are less likely to get into a bidding war, sniping etc. Items are usually priced with a ridiculously low starting price.
Happy bargain hunting at ebid.net.
