When we talk about meat or share a recipe, we always choose chicken, pork or beef. But therer are other tasty meat like Duck, about what we talk very less and probably eat very less too.
Personally I have never cooked Duck meat. But I eat Duck in reastuarent or at friend's home. I like the taste of Duck, I son't eat very often though.
What about you? Do you eat Duck meat? If you do how oftes?

I don't eat duck except when I am out and it is the only thing that I would like on the menu. I find that the meat of the duck is a bit tough and the portions are very small. It would never be my first choice.

Cooking Duck meat is not as easy as cooking chicken, pork or mutton etc. The Duck meat is more fibrous, and tough, and takes time to boil properly. I had cooked it once at home, and the experience of both cooking and eating was not pleasant. When I ate it at a restaurant, then also the overall preparation was good, but not too tasty. It takes time to season and marinate this meat, and also there aren't that much variety for duck receipes. I don't prefer to eat duck meat.

Duck and Goose are very fatty birds. So, I do not eat them often.
But they are very good. Their meat almost have a slight sweet taste to it like the dark meat of a turkey.
But if you should ever choose to make duck or goose, be sure that you use a pan that allows the fat to drain from the bird instead of pooling the bird at the bottom of the pan. It tastes much much better!

I haven't had duck since i was a small child, it is not highly available commercially. When I had it it was a Thanksgiving, and my Grandpa shot the duck at his pond. I do not remember much about it, but I have nothing against it. We eat a lot of turkey at my house.

I started to know duck meat when I dated my husband.
I never thought about eating it before I met him.
Some people say that if you can't cook it properly it'll smell bad.
Now I enjoy having fried duck with traditional spices.
There is famous Chinese food, the Peking Duck, you should try it. It's also very good but quite expensive.
However, I don't eat duck meat too often because people say it has more fat than chicken.

OMG I would never eat duck meat. NEVER! I am strictlly chicken, beef and pork. Just thinking of eating some other type of animal liek that makes me shiver. I know it's all the same (not the flavor but it being and animal) I just guess it makes me feel better to know it's a usual animal of meat we eat. ::shiver::

I used to have duck now and then .. perhaps at Christmas or for a special meal in a restaurant .. but quite frankly it is far too expensive here in the UK to buy unless for a very special occasion ..
I wish it was cheaper as I quite like it .. but at £15 a kilo that's a LOT of money ..

I tried to raise ducks and geese along with my chickens. My problem is that I get attached to some of them and now I have a flock. Others I have traded with my girlfriend for meat. There are 4 ducks and 3 geese that use the "doggie door". I just cant see myself eating them.
Other wise we do eat duck as a nice change of pace. I do make the famous duck l'orange. That is our favorite. But we normally don't eat it more than 10 times per year.

I think duck is very tasty - but duck doesn't like me, it is too greasy.
Let me explain. I'm allergic to a LOT of foods. I am allergic to many meats and so I rotate my foods so I can eat them - there is a book called "If this is Tuesday, this must be chicken," that my allergist recommended, with some exceptions. The book classified, for example, all cloven hoaved animals the same, sheep, goats, cows in the same dietary family & my dr did not. So, I'm always looking for food, especially different meats because of this allergy - I have a problem getting enough protien in my diet.
I had so many problems with duck being greasy that I quit trying to eat it. And it is a very tasty, dark fleshed meat. Well, there's still rabbit, venison and buffalo....

Mmmm.... I love duck! I can't cook it myself, as I don't really cook savoury dishes well to start with, let alone duck! I usually get it roasted and chopped from a chinese restaurant every couple of weeks. When I visit family in my home town, my aunt usually makes this great duck dish with taro. The taro soaks up the duck juices, and it's just devine. My brother refuses to eat duck of any description unless it's my aunt's taro duck dish. Definitely a favourite!

Duck meat is different from other meat it has its own characteristic and taste compare to chickhen. It was just a week ago that I ate duck from a party and I think im the only person who ate the roasted duck I consumed half of it. Duck is usually serve in the chinesse restaurant whole year round here and its a bit expensive but its worth it. bon apetite quack quack quack
