My 7 year old has an MRI Scan on Monday

Hi everyone, as you know Bong's had headaches for almost a year now, we hope it's a stress reaction due to his special needs.
On Monday we have to be at the hospital (over an hours drive away) by 8am. He is not allowed a drink after 5am and nothing to eat after midnight like a gremlin. He has to have a general anaesthetic so he sleeps through the scan and then it's 2/3 weeks wait for the results, which I'm sure will be fine.
Can you please wish him the best and send him positive vibes on Monday as it's going to be a big day for him?

Heavenly Father, we come to you on behalf of one of your precious children, Bong. You know what he has been going through for such a long time. As they do the scan on Monday, we know that you're protective arms will be around him and the results will be negative. Also, we thank you right now for your healing powers and know that he will be completely fine in no time. We thank You and Praise You, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Best wishes for the young one. Too young to have these trials, yet old enough to give you lessons on grace and mercy I am sure. All my positive energies will be sent across the pond for good results. Thanks for informing us so we could be donators of good things in spirit.

my best wishes are with you all. don't worry things will be okay. i know the anaethesiae part is scary but, trust me, it's just an implement to carry the test smoothly as you know children are edgy and fidgety. we had similar fear when my 3 yr old neice anouska had to be tranquilised and anaesthesized for tooth treatment. that was scary indeed!
Boo and bong are darlings and you are blessed. my heart goes with them.
smiles........
..oh i forgot, why do you have to await 2-3 weeks for the report??

Thanks mimpi, it is a worry, not because of the process so much as his reaction, it's only gas and air and magic cream to numb the back of his hand in case they need to put some dye in, but I am concerned he may panic, I'm trying to keep it low key for him. I'm sure that thought of new PJ's and a day off school will perk him up.
The report has to be looked at by the consultant and a panel or something and then their reports have to be sent to our pead who will decide what to do about the results and contact our GP who will then get in touch with me.

so, this is what you meant in your other post about wanting a baby girl. i'm so sorry. but i've always believed that you are not given anything that you can't handle. trust God to have reasons for his ways. i do admire your strength. i'm a weakling where my kids are concerned so i can't imagine myself in your shoes. don't lose faith, you have an angel with you.

You always make me feel better, Bong has Autism and ADHD, they are sending him to the physio soon to see how dyspraxic he is too. Some days he can be hard work but he's a sweet little chap really. It makes it harder when I think of the responsiblility which is why I know I have to deal with my feelings and get on with things but is a little happiness to much to ask?
I'm sure he will be fine and promise to let you know his results!
Thank you for sending me one of your angels to watch over him!

My thought are with you. Ive been there with my 5 year old its not easy. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The worst part is waiting for the results. If they give em too you dont freak till you get a doctors details. They will find something almost everytime and unless you know what it means it could be nothing. They found blood in my sons brain and i freaked only to find out it was no big deal.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this, I hope your little angel is ok now! Thank-you for warning me about the results I will try not to panic unless I have to.
I'm sort of blocking it at the moment, he's not poorly as far as I can tell so I'm working on the hope that it will prove his headaches are stress.

I will be thinking of him and you too.
He will be fine and a great relief to you if it can explain the reason for his headaches.
Good luck on Monday!!

I will surely remember Bong in prayer and thoughts, rainbow. He must have had a hard time with those headaches. Would be good to ease your mind to have a scan done to make sure that all is okay. Please take care of yourself too. Much love to you and Bong. Let us know the results when they are out won't you?

Bong I wish you all the best on monday. You will get los of cuddles from your mummy on that day.
Rainbow take care I hope the results will be good and that the headaches are nothing more than stress. I know it's not unusual for children with special needs to have severe headaches but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm sending positive vibes to you and your family.

Thank-you so much moby, he was a star, no fuss at all even once, he was even quite proud of the circles on his chest where the monitors were attached, although he never saw them.
I will let everyone know that he is fine (hopefully) in 2/3 weeks when I get his results, then we just have to find a way to deal with his stress, which has to easier than the worst options,

I'm glad Bong came through the scan OK. I said a little prayer for you both. I know how scary it is when your child has any tests done and you have to be so brave for them. Now an extra prayer is going up so that the results are fine. I'm sure they will be.. Take care and keep us informed..

Good luck and I hope everything comes out fine. It will be quite and experience for him even though they put him to sleep. Try to keep him from getting all worked up about it. The worst part will be not being able to have breakfast or a drink for him I am sure.

Hi, thanks for your support - it means a lot! Yes I can see the getting up early and no drinks and travelling really upsetting him, but it has to be done just to be on the safe side, I'm sure he'll be fine as far as the Scan is concerned. It's gas and air and some cream to numb his hand in case they need to put some dye in. Hopefully we should be home by teatime.

I empathize with you. MRI scans are uncomfortable and often scary. I've been through them with both my parents. Anyway, I'm sure your little boy will be just fine. Stay optimistic and try not to stress out over this, because the last thing you want to do is let your son see you sweat, you know?***Here's a BUNCH of positive vibes coming your way.*** Stay strong.

Thank-you so much hon, I hope your parents were both ok it must have been an anxious time for you all. I feel sure Bong will be ok, it's just to make sure that the headaches are as we think they are - stress related. Thanks for the positive vibes I'm taking them all with him Monday morning.
