Whats the best local food or recipe in your area? Here in the Manila, for me, the best is Adobo. Its pork or chicken marinated in soy sauce and vinegar. Pretty tasty!

Hands down, the local Cuban food! Delicious! We are fortunate here to have Pollo Tropical franchises operating here and there. Bargain prices and big servings. I love Cuban food but I think a person has to actually be Latin to be able to cook authentic tasting Cuban food.

Adobo - Adobo seasoning
That's funny, Adobo is just a seasoning that we use in America, I didn't know that it was an actual dish. I'm not sure what is even considered actually American food as we take our recipes from different cultures, but I do love meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Thats pretty cool! Im sure it taste the same somehow. I see adobo seasonings here in our local supermarket. Nowadays food manufacturers make cooking easy for us by making food seasonings and instant mixes. Like for Spanish paella, my mom used to make it the original way, but since there's instant paella mix around in the market, we use it instead. :D I love home made meatloaf and mashed potatoes too!

I think the adobo seasoning we get is a mixture of a few spices and I am not sure that it is Filipino in origin. I always thought it was Mexican? It is basically salt and garlic. I love Filipino Adobo Chicken! it is the absolute BEST and tangy food - It leaves my mouth watering for more. Our adobo seasoning here does not do very much for me, personally.

definitely ADOBO for PINOY ! i have taken a bottle also of the adobo flavoring available here in U.S. grocery with other condiments display but the original Pinoy style can't be run over from the taste of artificial seasoning . i didn't buy again for a bottle of it 'coz i usually cook the basic Pinoy original CHICKEN PORK ADOBO with soy sauce & vinegar ( Datu Puti ) native brand that i will always look for in the Asian Grocery shop here . sometimes i will cook it with more water or make it saucy so that we can enjoy eating with a very hot rice & with fried daing !

In the U.K one traditionalgood food is Shepherd's Pie..I love cooking this in the winter.. Here is a recipe for it.. Shepherd's Pie Recipe (Cottage Pie in the UK) This is a tasty shepherd's pie (or cottage pie) made with ground beef, mashed potatoes, and seasonings. Scroll down for more Shepherd's Pie Recipes, including several using leftover beef. * 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef * 2 tablespoon butter * 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce * 2 eggs, separated * 6 tablespoons butter * 8 potatoes, peeled, boiled, and mashed * 1 cup finely chopped onion * 1 tablespoon ketchup * beef broth * 1/2 cup heavy cream * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder * Parmesan cheese Brown ground beef and sauté onions in 2 tablespoons butter until golden. Mix ground beef with onions, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Add a few tablespoons of beef broth and cook, covered, over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, adding more beef broth as necessary to keep moist. Beat egg yolks until light, then in another bowl, beat whites until stiff. Beat the yolks, cream, 6 tablespoons butter, and garlic powder into hot mashed potatoes. Gently fold in beaten egg whites. Put meat mixture into a casserole then top with potato mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake at 350° until potato topping is puffed and browned, about 25 to 35 minutes. take care
