At what age do you feel it is appropriate for children to pick out their own clothes? Why?
At what age do you let your child feed themselves completely?
Why?
At what age do you let children have their own cell phone? Why?
At what age do you let children start dating? Why?

in my experience, my sister's kids are picking out some of their own clothes by the age of two, or just before it. for some it may be a bit too young, but around this age... childen are expressing their own individuality already. with this, they try to be a little independent, too.
at two, some children are already in the "impressionable" stage, doing what they see others do. when they see other kids, even if older and bigger than them, can eat on their own, they tend to let the others that he/she (the kid) can too.
cellfone is a different matter. it can be a form of necessity or a luxury. it also entails responsibility. for the kids in primary school, again i'm just citing the experience of my family wherein i have 11 nephews and nieces... some of them were allowed to have cellfones provided that it's for home use only. for the highschool students, they are already allowed to have units because they often go out and the parents would like to have a means to check on them (where they are etc.)
dating... depends on a lot of things... when, where, who with, relationship with the other person's family, the level of trust between parents and children, the level of maturity of the child etc...

i was allowed to pick my own clothes out from the 6th grade.
Everything was ordered from the catlog for Pennys but i was still allowed to pick out what i liked. As far as eating im going on 39 and i cant remember when i started eating on my own. I think that 15 or 16 is a good age to date. I was allowed at the age of 16 to go out to the pro soccer games and out afterwards with no problem my parents knew where i was and who i was with and didnt even have a problem with what time i came home because it was usually on the weekend. LOL i sure wasnt a child when i got a cell phone try like 30 years old before i go a cell. I think kids have NO right or reason to have a cell phone till they graduate high school.
