i won 500$ from yahoo

hey i need a little help here. I got an email saying i won 500$, it appears to genuinly be from yahoo but the thing is when i go to claim it, it says i have to upgrade to a premium player before i can have my money and it costs 8.95 and is only payable by e-gold, to me if it was truly paypal it would be payable by my choice of e-gold, paypal, CC or e-check. SO what im asking is if anyone knows of this and can let me know if its a scam or real or if anyone knows how i can tell that it really is sent by yahoo. i looked on ripoffreport.com and there was nothing about it ther but i want to be sure because im not in a financial position to just through ten dollars away. Thanks all

Its all scam as Yahoo never asks for money and never asks for upgrading as I am member since 1999 and Yhaoo never asked me to upgrade. As far as winning money is concerned, you can only win on yahoo by playing games at htttp://games.yahoo.com in the games there are many and Yahoo conducts tournaments and give away money.
