Don't you hate it when...

Someone leaves you a one-line response. I really hate it when someone only leaves a one-liner as their response. It drives me nuts because it doesn't help you at all. Some people don't even leave a response that answers your discussion and some leave ones that don't have anything to do about your discussion. Of course I hit the little minus button. I'm starting to think they do it just to get money. See how many one line responses you can leave in a minute or something. I always make mine full of information and at least a couple sentences long. What do you think?

I particulary hate it when I've taken the time to put togehter a lenghty discusssion post and am greeted with, "I don't know about that", "yes you are right", or some other equally inane response. I give all of those types a - rating...pretty much all you can do.

I keep forgetting to give ratings. I'm going to try to remember to do that.

Just kidding. I think some people do that just trying to make money with the least amount of effort. It's irritating to get pointless responses, or those that say something like "I don't know."

lol I just got one of those "I don't know" comments. Why respond when you don't know?

Hey freind, well it really drive me crazy seeing one liner response, but you really need not to bother , by doing this they all are loosing reputation as well low earning here, so what tehy do are responsible for results too, can you see person above me also responded one liner, sating i hate too, what a crazy thing is this, keep posting quality responses, keep searching good discussions about which you know something and can answer, strictly avoid one liner posts, best luck and happy earning!!!...cheers!!

I don't like the one line responses either and I bet Mylot won't pay that person for it. If they do get paid, I bet it isn't much. I think alot of them leave a one line response just to rack up the number of responses they are making. Little do the know, they won't earn much for it. Mylot may even delete those little one liners and their number of responses made will decrease. I only answer discussions that I know something about. I know I can type more than one sentence when I respond to discussions that I have some knowledge of. It is easy to type more than one sentence to those types.

Yeah I just don't see why you would bother leaving a response to something you know nothing about. They probably will get their one-liners deleted and lose money and reputation.

Seriously, that just frustrates the heck out of me! The "agreed", "lol", "i don't know" responses are just spam, in my opinion! I belong to a couple of different forums, and I see this a lot. I tend to just skip those types of responses. Here, most people try and make an effort to post real responses, and I certainly think these people should be rewarded. The responses I class as spam, I tend to ignore too. However, I think you might be onto something. I might start hit the - button more too, if it's clear that there is no genuine thought in the response.

Yeah I've noticed that the majority of people here do leave long thoughtful responses. I do watch who I give a bad rating though. It has to be really short and pointless for me to hit that button. Some people leave one liners that can actually be helpful but it still drives me nuts.

Soemtimes the question only warrants a one line response. If that is all I have to say about something that is all I post. When posting a question, people need to think about how they might answer it and if it would require a long or short answer.

I ain't gonna say that I hate it when people respond a one-liner. I am not really bother by it. It's their prerogative to respond that way. However, I hate it when I open a discussion that I really wanted a nice answer then people will respond on my discussion totally out of the issue.

if its not one of these who reply to all discussions the same , then you get the spammers with their links, i hate that. i try to respond what i have to say and to describe it understandable. when you dont have the english language as your first language, its difficult sometimes, to express your correct thoughts. but in the other way, when you participate you can learn every day more. i hope you understand what i mean ;-)

Yes I do understand what you mean. There are some that have trouble with their english and I understand those. They can leave very confusing replies but they did try and that's what counts.

I have received one liners that have been supportive so I appreciate those.. and I have received long ones that didnt contribute with anything. So I disagree that it would be the length of the answer that determines whether it deserves a plus or a minus.

Of course that's true. Some people can go on and on and never have anything to do about the discussion they're responding too but at least they tried. One-liners are just lazy in my opinion. Sometimes they contribute but not often. I've found maybe one or two that did contribute to my discussion.

Soemtimes i find it is good to leave a oneline positive comment or soemthign liek that what get me is when you see the same onelien comment in several discussions by the same person or they use it for all ther eresponses. Soem time s i do this becasue soemone else has already said what i was going to say.

I've seen some of your responses and at least you answer the question and usually leave a very informative response. Like you said I hate the people that leave the same comment on several discussions just to get more money which if they paid attention they would know it's not going to get them more money.

I guess people do it just to make money, however i think they are missing the point of the site. I was under the impression people are paid based on the quality of thier discussions and responses, and how well thier discussions do on the site. Any how, I am a little torn here because sometimes there isnt alot to say about a subject. Though, when you put alot of time and effort into a topic, i could see how it would be annoying to see a bunch of one liner responses. I guess those are better than one word answers though lol.

I don't blame you for getting upset over something like that. I get some of those same kind of responses. I think it's because they are in a hurry, trying to answer as many as possible because they think that it is going to increase their earnings. I was told that it's the quality, not how many. I could be wrong, but like I said that is what I was told. There are also many people who post one liners to open a discussion. I find those very hard to respond to, so I normally skip over the.

Dummy. - Need I say more?
I understand where you're coming from. I've only been on MyLot a short while, but I can already see how many "comment wh*res" exist on here. I've seen people leave one-word comments like "Sorry!" after realizing they couldn't contribute anything to the discussion; That should've been the cue for them to just skip it. I am not that thirsty for a few cents. I try to always leave quality respones, even if it's just 5 lines or so. If we're all going to "capitalize" off each other's discussions, we can at least make it worth the while.

Oh yes! I hate that too. Most especially the ones who just copy and paste my desription of my topic and also, those who copy and paste irrelevant info. An example of this is I have a topic on from what country do you think the most beautiful asians come from and there's this respondent that I'm sure and copied and pasted ALL the facts about MALAYSIA! from the government to land area as in everything about it. That was the first time I rated negative on someone that answered my topic.

They might just do it to make money, Giggles, but Mylot won't pay them for responses of a few words, nor will they pay for responses which are not relevant to your discussions. One guy answered my discussion with "d d d d d d d u h". Naturally, I reported him. This is not the way to behave on this site. People take their time in thinking up and wording their discussion and deserve a bit more respect than that. I have also hit the - button AND the + button if I think the discussions or responses are worth rating. Brightest Blessings.

Yes, I have to admit that I hate one-line responses, yes I know that this would not help me at all, oh I only find now and again not many times that people are not responding to me correctly. Yes I am quite sure that is why they do it just to get try and receive some money out of it but if they put a little more effort into how they are responding then of course they may even receive a best response. Well you can see here how I respond. I always try to do my best when responding.

Hello giggles, here's to cheer you up \(^.^)/ Now, back to the discussion, aside from what the responses here are saying, I also abhored seeing one line saying "thank you for the info," "this is great" or "this is fun." I didn't use my head to put down a discussion just for this people to tell me that this is fun or great or whatever. The least I can give is 3 liners. This lazy people should have the decency to givi you something to say. If they have no brain, then don't respond. For this week alone, its been everywhere on my discussions. LOL...lets just keep posting. I like your avatar and we even have the same no. 88. :)

lol I agree that if we put the effort in to make a good discussion then we at least deserve a good response. There was a guy earlier today posting the exact same comment in almost every discussion thinking he'd somehow get away with it. I reported him along with a bunch of others and now all of his comments are gone. Those lazy no brainers will get whats coming to them eventually. I do like that we have the same numbers 88 I bet your 18 too or maybe 19. Thanks for the compliment on my avatar. I love Happy Tree Friends!!!
