I don't know about you guys, but I'm sold on getting rid of this guy NOW. First it was his apathetic legal opinion of civil liberties. Now we find that his office purged a bunch of lawyers because they weren't convicting Democrats fast enough. Enough is enough. If we can't impeach the Monkey in Chief, at least get rid of the guy giving him some of the bad advice.
Then we can move onto Cheney...

Unfortunately, Alberto Gonzales is a political appointee, he can not be impeached. However, he can be "asked to resign" or be fired. Bush and/or Congress are the only ones that can do it and they put him in. Since he is doing what he is told, like a good little boy; I don't think he will be removed any time soon.

First you must get your facts straight, rather than automatically call for the impeachment, a little bit of research would tell you that the Attorney General can not be Impeached, as he is appointed by the President.

You would be wrong. Any official that is appointed by Congress can also be rescinded by Congress. I'd post excerpts but until I hit 500 I can't paste, lol, so I'll just type out a URL.

Yes, Congress can fire him; but, it is not considered "impeachment".

I don't think the Attorney General is the only one involved with civil liberties, the fact is that there is nothign wrong with our civil liberties right now, which is why nothing is being done.
