magazine solicitors

I live in an apartment building. We have security locks on the door. Some one knocked at my door today, it was a magazine solicitor. He was froma different state and it was one of those same ones. I buy a magizine he gets points then he can try to go somewhere. He was kind of an idiot I thought. I told him this was a non-soliciting building. he said Ok and proceded to go on. I told him aagin. He didn't know what soliciting ment. I explained it to him and told him that he shouldn't be in here. He said he wasn't sellign anything. I asked him how does he get his points? He said (after asking him 5 times) when people buy magazines. What do you do when people like that come around? If he comes around again I am thinking of calling the police on him.
