War is good for what? Money, pride, ego, supremacy, power? Why is Bushes war raging on? His reasons stated are generally to preoccupy their enemies within their own borders, so they cannot go attacking the USA as they did 5 years ago, but when will that stop? The longer the USA keeps their military there, the more resentment will grow in the hearts of the countries people. Eventually when the US withdraws, will they have solved anything, or will a terrorist organization's wrath grow to a national level?
What is the purpose of war? Why fight? If to defend yourself, then why do some acts of war involve attack, someone must initiate a war. If it erupts from a dispute, why does it have to be resolved with such violence. On a small scale, all confrontations and disputes can be resolved with talks. So on a large scale, why does it come down to people throwing themselves into death for another person's anger that they have adopted as their own?

I just wanted to make an observation that it was Bid Laden who started this war against the U.S. when he sucker punched America killing 3000 innocent people. I also wanted to mention that in Iraq it is the Muslim extremists that are killing they're own people as well as (the men and women from the U.S.) who are over in Iraq trying to help them to have a more democratic way of life but, in my opinion, they are so stupid the religion dictates to them to hate western civilization (that's us)(that doesn't mean they have to kill us, by the way, before this war we didn't go over to their country and kill them for their religious beliefs). I personally would like to know what the solution to the problem of this war and of curbing terrorism. Nothing personal against you BourderHouse. I was thinking generally speaking, I always believed that if there is a problem at hand, there must be a solution. I don't know what it is, but there has got to be a solution to everything. If someone knows of a plan, I'd like to hear it so we can help the situation. Now, don't yell at me, huh? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it makes me very sensitive and I almost want to cry when people in MyLot yell at me after they ask for opinions, I give it to them, and they turn on me. LOL Take care.

Why war? Because, although they are the most intelligent species, humans are still animals. Violence is used amoung the animal kingdom to resolve most disputes. Fighting is easier, to some degree, because there's really no compromise (in the beginning). There's no sitting down to a table a discussing what is in the best interest of the parties involved...no one has to sacrifice their interests for the interests of another. The mentality is, for the most part..."We don't like you, and we don't want to sit down and talk and come to an agreement. We want things our way, and if you don't like it, we'll try and force our way on you."
The reason why this "war" is continuing is because (1) America stirred up a bee's nest in order to find honey that was never there, and now they have to work to settle things back down, or the rest of the occupants in the tree will suffer. (2)If America draws out too soon, we'll have another Vietnam on our hands.
Though, given the current state of the middle east, Bush might have attained his goal of preventing terrorist attacks on America (at least, for a short time). Chances are, when we're done policing the country, it'll erupt into civil war and it's citizens will be too busy tearing each other apart to worry about attacking any other country. What happens after that, I have no idea. However, as long as people refuse to sit down and talk things out diplomatically, war will still continue to be a popular option for solving conflicts.

The war was maded by presidents, no more, they only look for more money/economy-things such as fuel. The bad thing is they don't fight for it, they only send the signal to attack and soldiers do it for they.
If they fight for it, it will be cool, Soldiers have families and they die everyday at the war, I know they are soldiers, but still back of they, there is a family waiting so ansius for they back...
This is what I think about the war and about war-related stuff..

war is hell. We have all heared the saying. And it's true. Wars used to be fought for the right reasons. Now it's bush running in for oil, sacrificing thousands of lives to do so? that is bogus in my opinion!

Hi...! A nice topic you have started, really good one man!
War is never good! War is of two type. In first one, a powerful, stronger imposes war on a weaker, the latter may or may not show useless courage but looses finally.
In second one, both equal powers fight for an matter of honour, power, prestige or revenge! The second one is rather more destructive than first one, because in second one there is sudden destruction to both sides, but in the first one only one is destroyed completely! In such cases, world pity for second one.
In this case USA is the first one and the side which causes destruction to weker opponent! If USA goes on doing this they will have to regreet one day, because there this deed just shows hatred and nothing else!

In war, there are no winners only victims. And the victimsa are always the innocent people who do not have any fault other than being a citizen of a specific state. I will agree with Boy George in his song which says that war is stupid.

ofcourse i agree with you, but as we all know bush has turned into a beast, just because he is the president of United States, he cannot assume the role of God, or try to play King of world games. He doesn't realise how many people hate his activities, must first of all blame the americans who made the biggest mistake of their lifetimes, by re electing him. You should have seen the uraguay incident where people opposed that bush.

Many ppl still hav this question that why ppl fight with fellow beings. Its obvious that wars are being fough for money, power and boot. USA are attackin all those innocent people, thts money! The gulf estates has the major oil deposit in the world which ius attractin forces frm around the world. If these oil deposits get into the hands of a super power, they r makin money. Alot of oil which will be used for developing technology.Although this isnt fair to capture someones's property with a stupid excuse

War is a burden on humanity and resorces. Rivals should be conquered not by war but by peace.US should show their might not in war but in winning hearts of people through peace.Peace is the only way to solve all crisis.

This war is insane. What has this country accomplished so far? Nothing that's what. This country is going to be the bane of destruction if things do not change.

All I know is that about 2,500 years ago Buddhas said "Violence cannot be solved with violence." Humanity has yet to learn that lesson it seems. America's war, (I'm an American and I Love my country and my people, but my government seems "a little" out of control) is currently based on making some wealthy American and Saudi Arabian families even wealthier.

War is necessary for all nations needing to thrive and expand; even just merely survive. It's nice to talk about the world getting along peacefully, but it's an idea that I'm afraid will never be met. If we didn't go into war with Iraq, way worse things than resentment would be taking place. Resentment we can handle; dictatorship, poverty, etc, we can't out last for long. We can't just waltze up to a country and ask them to share oil with us. We can't just say "Hey, why did you crash planes into our buildings? That's not nice. Promise to never do it again." I just can't see that working out too well. The purpose of war is to settle disputes that don't have any other alternatives. Even if our country decided war wasn't the answer, I doubt the other countries would feel the same. I'm sure if you saw the opposing side of war, if you saw our country backing down and not fighting back, you wouldn't be too happy with it.
