The weirdest news story ever

I was just watching Survivorman and he was eating a frog and it reminded me of a news story I heard years ago that has stuck in my head as one of the weirdest things I've ever heard. A prisoner had escaped and they were obviously trying to track him down so they'd come on every now and then with an update such as "an overgrown trail a few miles from the prison seems to be disturbed so police are checking the area" or "traces of a fire were found in the mountains near the area where he's presumed to be..." you know, the usual. But during one update they said that police had found a dead toad between two slices of bread. It had one bite taken out of it. There are so many things wrong with this picture. 1) Why, if you had bread, would you not just eat the bread and forget about the toad? 2) Why, if you couldn't stomach the toad, would you leave it all behind instead of dropping the toad and keeping the bread? 3) How does it occur to a person to make a toad sandwich in the first place? 4) Did he just put a whole toad between two slices of bread? Guts, bones, and all? If not, how did they know it was a toad? Sometimes the world is a very weird place. It's probably been 20 years since I heard that story and it still pops into my mind now and then. Does anyone else have any weird news stories.
