As a mother of 4 children i have a question? Where has the respect gone .I watch children at the play grounds in store and just about every where and i dont see respect any more.Kids are getting away with murder yelling at their parent disrespecting their teachers. Maybe its our fault as a society for letting our kids just walk around thinking every one owes them somthing and i just dont understand it. What do you think? Is it the parents, schools, lack of discipline, goverments position on discipline?

I think it is a lot of things.
-People are having kids before they have grown up themselves, then they try to be best friends instead of parents.
-Parents spoil there children with all the technology's under the sun like cell phones and video games instead of like when I was a kid and we had to earn what we wanted.
-Government has stepped in and made it so if you pat your kid on the butt and they cry abuse you get your kids taken away.
I think the biggest responsibility for the lack of respect is parents not instilling the values into there children. Rather than spending time as a family eating dinner and playing games and doing things together, parents are doing there thing while kids do theres. If parents were more involved in making sure they know who there kids are with and what they are doing, and made sure that the kids are earning the privilege to do and get things rather than just letting the kids think its there right a lot of things would be better. As parents we are required to give our kids a bed to sleep in, clothes to wear, food to eat, and love and discipline to flourish. No where have I ever seen it required to give a kid everything they ask for. If they cant respect us and help us and do there schoolwork and so on they should be left with the essentials until they can earn them back!
