Ok I love putting up Christmas Decorations. This is what I did 2 years ago and oh it was so clever, as usual for me.
I was putting up the Decoration, I am only little so I have to stand on things to reach the Ceilings lol.
Well I put all my Pretty Lights on the Wall, I hung the Santa from the Curtain Reils (I had to stand on the Settee to reach that) Then it is time for the Garlands. The Kids are upstairs and I wonder if I should shout my Son but then I think 'No I will do it, he might be taller then me, but I will do it'. I get the Garland out of the Box and decide to start in the Corner where the Computer is. Without thinking I climb on the Chair reach up and wooooops I turn and I fall and I just miss the Computer. I sit on the Floor in Shock and my breathing is bad. My Son comes running down the stairs followed by his Fianccee. I burst into tears. My Son holds me and he says 'Mum you know that chair moves what are you doing. We have Step Ladders and you are suppose to use them not a moving Chair'. So once I calmed down and was able to breathe I got the Step Ladders and carried on, my Son kept coming to check to make sure I would not fall of the Ladders as well. Well I got all the Decorations up and when I take them down I won't use the Chair
So do not stand on a Chair that moves like Blondie did here.
No I haven't done it since lol. Oh and of course he told Mel what had happened and I got a lecture again, lol.

Gabs you are so funny but I am glad you lived to tell the tale. Why didn't you stand on the computer desk like I do. There is so much junk on my desk that it couldn't move with the weight of it - just one of the castors broke off it and it wobbled slightly. As long as you keep posting here I will know you are ok, so don't stop for a while or I will be very worried about you. Whatever will you do next! Lol.

What are you like eh? Can't take you anywhere it seems ;0) Don't worry we've all done things and sometimes you do it without thinking! At least nothing was seriously hurt, well apart from possibly your pride! I'm sure none of us laughed when we read this either, least you can laugh now, but I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time.

Hi ya gabs. Are you related to me? I have a lot of those moments. Once I was in the shower and tried to reach a towel, rather than stepping out to get it. Well, my feet slipped out from under me, and I layed on the floor like a crumpled doll. I destroyed my shoulder and needed surgery. You are not alone in this blondie stuff sugar.

Oh dear Gaby, you poor thing you moved the moving chair to climb on not thinking that it was going to move away and leave you on the floor, I bet you were in shock!! I bet your son kept coming down and making sure you were not going to fall off the ladder or anything else for that matter well that is what your children are supposed to do as they love you so much Gaby, you are so lucky to have such loving children.

You really are a silly girl sometimes, lol. I have done that too, but not for a while. I tendd to stand on windwoledges when doing the trimmings and curtains etc.
In my bedroom Shrek build me some cupboards above the bed with a bottom cupboard each side and shelves inbetween. I stand on the cupboard, hang on the the botton of the top cupboards to reach things stored near the ceiling, luckily I have only fallen on the bed. My other trick to get up there is to stand the dressing table stool on the bed, I have fallena couple of times but the steps dont' reach to the middles, lol.
Climbing must be a blonde thing.

Doing things on your own. It sounds like me. I glad nothing
serious happened. I'm not blonde so I always use non-shaky chairs and my step ladder if needed. If any of my chairs are
shaky, I'll tightened the loose screws, or use super glue or wood glue and strong strings to stabilize the chairs.
You have good kids. :))).

What do you suppose it is about us as humans to do these things? I personally am the same, I could have 3 step ladders in the house, outside or where ever, but that good old chair always seems to work better, why do they make those ladders anyway, they should just sell chairs....lol.... another one I do all the time is using the wrong tools for the wrong things, I have a house full of every kind of tool you can imagine, but I use screwdriver s for chisels, which usually break and I cut myself from, I use knives for screwdrivers, which slip and I again cut myself with, anything makes a good hammer, until it breaks or you realize that it wasn't a good idea to use block of wood as a hammer. Gabs we all do it....your not alone.....

Awww Gabs .. what were you thinking .. then again don't worry as we ALL do daft thinks now and then ..
The main things are that you were okay thank goodness and that you learned 'not to stand on chairs with wheels' from your nasty experience ..
I am not supoosed to use step ladders at all .. but I ohh so wanted to clean the outisde of my lounge window .. 'filthy - got to be cleaned' was all that went through my mind .. so I dragged an old pair of kitchen steps to the window .. carefully arringed my legs so I could clamber up a couple of steps .. did all the window I could reach .. carefully clambered back down again and stepped to the side to move the steps across .. only I was still one step off the ground so my foot only found fresh air .. until I crashed over that is .. struggled up 'good leg' gashed and hurting .. hobbled indoors .. and swore never to clean the flippin' windows ever again ...
I have since bought a long handled window washer thing .. and let a professional give them a good clean twice a year .. oh yes .. and I threw out the steps so I'd never be so daft as to try and use them again !

Oh dear Gaby. That's why you bought the step ladder - so that you didn't have to use moving chairs. And you deserved the extra lecture. And now that you've brought it up, you'll have to suffer thru extra lectures from your friends here. lol
