Advertise yourself...and gain a myLot friend!

The best thing to gain a new friend on myLot specially if you are a new member is to advertise first yourself in a manner that you will respond to a discussion that you can relate.
Make yourself known by some old myLot members who started a discussion by responding to them first and you let them know that you have the same interest in some areas,in that way the moment you asked them to be your friend they are familiar with you and there are great chance that they will accept you for they leave an impression that you are a sensible new member.
And in able to generate more respond to your discussion try to start your very first discussion the moment you have more than 50 posts so your friends can respond to your discussion.
This my piece of advice hope this be of help to new members and to those who are trying to be a friend to everyone.
So let's advertise ourselves now!!

Lol how would you know if the older MyLotters know you? I've been here for about 2 weeks and not even sure anybody know about me. But it's a very good advice. Good thing I didn't start discussions like mad and just respond to other discussion; trying to blend in makes it easier.
p.s. I think I'm addicted to posting. Lol

I think old members will know you once you are visible to thier discussion or was seen more than once in thier discussion and your respond is credible that makes a different and you will not have a hard time to wait when you asked the old member to be your friend because he/she heard your opinion prior to your friend request.
I can say I was adddicted too!! enjoy posting.

Thanks winterose and maryannemax it is the best thing to do when you are a new member to be known first and prove yourself that you are a capable myLot member by responding to the existing discussion rather than spending so much effort of starting a discussion and then complain afterwards that there is no one responding to that discussion.

Very true, it is indeed a prerogative for newbies to make themselves known by others here. By that way, we can all establish a very good relationship with each other!;)
We always do share some things in common, and the best thing to look for it is to first promote ourselves. Make them know that we are here, and that older members are also there to guide and help them.
I hope that more members here would come to realize the significance of being known by others!;)

Being known here and being visible in some discussion is the key to gained quality friends that will be a good alliance in the future.
I really think new members should not start first a discussion unless he/she gained friends that she/he knew relate to the topic that she/he will about to start.

I agree with you, Maribel. It's better to build your reputation first. Another perk of responding first before starting discussions is that you more or less get a feel of what topics are more popular here in mylot and start topics that more or less everybody can relate to and respond to. I wish someone had given me that advise when I had just started so I wouldn't post too many discussions first!

well thats true that first you have to adverties your self reposone on sevral discussion add so many peopel on my lot as a friend but no one talk to each other every one trys the peopel that we add to our friend list they response our topic but no one repond on your topic and no one like to talk with each other
i add somay peopel and i respond on their discusiions i fulfill my friendshiop but no other one can do the same even peopel of my lot did'nt even try to massage each others they were trying to replying to sevral discussions
i was telling that so many peopel i was sending invitation but they didnt add me yet and i was reponding to their topics so
ok i will reply to your topic but you have to add some more topic i will definatly reply to your topic
well as you said that try to be friend no body likes to be a friend i dont know why they trying to scape with other

Hi leotheking Thanks for sharing your experience in myLot I think you should be more visible to the member you want to add and let them know you are talking and you're opinion is great and friendship will start like that.
I have few friends whom I can trust and we build a good relationship because we respond in each other discusssion.

yes u r absolutely right.i agree with your comments.the best way to gain frends is first to respond to others discussions in a good way and after that start a new discussions.so that day by day u vil get to know others who have intersts as of urs and u vil defy mmake frendship with them.this is very gud topic.I appreciate it.

Nice idea. i do agree with you. so for all old mylot members. i'm here to earn some money and please repone to any of my discussion so that i can be like you guys.

Maribel, you have such great ideas and but them into words so easily. It is better for the new people to respond for alittle while before posting. It also gives them a general idea to what a post should look like. I had a couple of people I accepted and their post where ones that had a one word answer. Maybe I should have explained to them in a private message that myLot deletes alot of those. Well I am going to try and be a bit of help to the new members.
