Yeah..sometimes I do fasting for health, i feel clean when I did it. What about you?

fasting, according to me, could be classified into i) total rigorous fasting for longterm, ii) relaxable fasting for a short period.
the former type , as u can understand is far more severe, and is not really desirable while the latter is acceptable. fasting over days not only upsets our whole physiology and general health, it affects our mind and we start losing our self esteem. this could lead to fatal deaths. on the other hand fasting for for a day has more good effect than bad. it purifies and washes our body and cleanses our mind. it makes us strong and disciplined.
if i may add to this, breaking of fast should always be done with liquid or semi solid, non-spice, non-greasy foodstuff, preferably juices or cod milk or fruits.

Fasting affords a physiological rest to the digestive, assimilative and protective organs. As a result, the digestion of food and the utilisation of nutrients is greatly improved after fasting. The fast also exerts a normalising, stablising and rejuvenating effect on all the vital physiological, nervous and mental functions.

I used to fast when I was young. LOL (I'm trying to say that I am old now, eh)
I don't do it for health, but merely when I have something that I ask from GOD or something that related to HIM. I heard it is good for your body. You are giving the system in your body, a rest for a while.
Have you done any fasting before yourself? I probably should do it more often these days, but wish me luck. Sometimes all the food temps so much. ha ha ha.
