i used to flaunt 2 credit cards of my own and never used to miss any opportunity to exhibit it whenever and where ever possible. be it freaking out with friends, partying, shopping with family or even for some almost unknown in my workplace who would need money urgently, i was the first one to swipe mine unscrupulously. the result was obvious, i soon became a shopaholic, extravagant, unwise person and a pauper!! finally, a day came when my bank balance almost gotten NIL and i decided to trash the cards. i actually did it and instead opted of debit card, which, i feel is a far better option for ppl like me who donot have scruples of any sort. that was my side of the stoy deepak. thanx

I have already conveyed and will continue to say that you are exceptional friend. Though I started the Discussion many weeks ago and forget about it, but you made it alive, by posting your quality response. I really appreciate quality responses, and whenever I read them, I feel that I am lucky and I thank God that HE gave me an opportunity to become friend of intelligent and mature persons, like YOU, who would always enlighten, advice and guide me with their own experiences. I agree if you do not use credit cards wisely and judiciously, you are likely to land in trouble. You have to be very very cautious, while using Credit Cards. You have to be alert about timely payment, otherwise you are likely to pay heavy amount of interest. I am not exaggerating, believe me, I have been using credit cards to obtain their maximum benefit (i.e. both for credit and convenience)and I make it a point to make timely payment, without fail, I do not using credit cards causes me problems for me. But if you are not alert in using these cards and making timely payment, it will become a headache for you. Thanks so much for sharing your views. (+) rated, as always.

I have credit cards but I rarely use it. Credit cards offer immediate satisfaction, but the consequences are long term. Payment plans are so low, that it will take years for you to pay your debt off, while interests continue to accumulate. It takes a discipline soul and financial knowledge to really take advantage of credit cards. Since I'm neither both, I've decided to steer away from them, and only save those that I have, for emergency purposes.

I have both. Credit cards can get you in trouble,if you are not careful to stay in your means. I only use mine for an emergency. If I cannot afford it, I don't buy it. Debit cards are conveinent. Less paper to deal with.

I dont own a credit card. I feel like it needs alot of control and discipline to use. Im not saying i dont have those but i think its just temptationf or me as well to go about purchasing things even without cash just because i have a crdit card that i can pay in installment basis. Its convenient but its not practical to me. I have no need for credit card anyway. And i dont go around carrying loads of cash either that i dont need anyway...

I only have one to try and establish a credit here in the USA. Its a small limit and I have only used it a couple of times to purchase some clothes for my son and I. This is my very first one and i intend to make sure that i don't get myself in debt.
