I don't have any kids and I don't think it's fair on other people in the UK when people who are not working have 3, 4, 5 or more kids and expect taxpayers to keep paying for those kids. I know several people who've got several kids by different fathers and have never worked and the oldest kids are 13 or 14 and younger ones are 2 or 3 years old and they never intend to work full-time - how can they afford to anyway? Who's going to look after their kids whilst they're at work? I understand the government policy on advising people to have just 2 kids but I don't understand the full ins and outs of that policy. If people know there is a 2 child policy, they should use adequate means of family planning such as contraceptives to avoid pregnancy in the first place. Some people expect the rest of society to bear the burden of their children which is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned. I've worked with long-term unemployed people and it was shocking to see the mother attending the course as well as several of her grown up children who had never worked in their entire lives! So basically they've been living off dole and housing benefits for years which I and other taxpayers like me have been paying for. If you can afford to have more kids and support them yourself then good luck to you but people should not have kids and then expect the government to pay for it. If the law is so unbearable for you in your country then you should consider moving somewhere else as long as you can afford to keep your own children :)

By the way when I said "I understand the government policy on advising people to have just 2 kids" I meant in your country not the UK as we have no such policy here (more's the pity)...

I guess two child poilicy in your place, is not the best solution, but i guess it can help..And for me, i dont totally agree to it, because you are right where is the freedom..How about those couples wo wanted to have plenty of children?..As long as the family is capable of racing their children regardless of how many it is, it is ok.. I think your government should conduct more lectures and seminars on awareness on family planning, not that they will impose a policy on 2 child policy, caus eit is the freedom of teh people they are getting from them.

i don't have any kids yet but i think every country wants to have a decent population and if the country decided that i guess there is a serious reason to it like you mentioned i do not if the 2 child policy could be the best solution but i do think that if you insisit on having more that 2 and the government won't let you do that it is a co,plicated situation and maybe you ought to move to another country..if you feel that they tool the freedom from you

I have mixed feelings about this. I used to work in a DFCS office and we had a lot of third and fourth generation families living off welfare and not working even though they were able to work. It used to just about make me sick to see people on welfare continuing to have children when they couldn't take care of the one they already had. I myself have three children and love it...but I take care of my own. I can kindof see the need for such a policy even though it is sad that one has to be put in place.
