When did you first start doing crafts? What was the first craft you ever did? Did someone teach you or were you just naturally good at it? What's your favorite project?
I love to make hand-decorated cards for people. There is just something so personal about creating a card for an individual.

i have always loved making cards since my teenage years as well. my favourite is to make cards, but lately it has been scrapbooking. there is just something so personal in turning a favourite photo, or a wedding photo, into a lovely album page with journalling of thoughts and feelings and to add meaningful titles and words to create a work of art.

Actually i don't remember when i started doing crafts. i started making things from the time i was able to hold scissors. i think my first craft was paper cutting like figures of girls or clowns or trees or flowers. at first i had help from my grandmother, my mother and craft teachers. but soon i was able to do things on my own. everything needs a push to start at first. now i don't need any help and i am able to make some original things atleast once in a week. every project i make is dear to me. they are all my favourites. i make things with upmost care, passion, and patience.
hand decorated cards are indeed special. i also make cards and writes my own messages. when you giv a hand made card to someone they feel special and when they praise your work, you feel great too.

Wow... you have a lot of creative things going on in your life. Awesome!
I love when people get my cards - they usually save them because I personalize them the bet I can.

I started doing crafts in some medium since I was about 10. My mother taught me to crochet and I have picked up much of the rest on my own. I enjoy making plastic canvas crafts--so versital. I enjoy making magnets. I love crocheting blankets. I also love restoring pieces and painting them. Sort of like 'trash to treasure' type things. I am working on restoring an old end table right now. Its all painted and just awaiting me to paint a design on it.

I must be the only person that doesn't know how to crochet. LOL. I would love to learn. Trash to treasure projects are always fun.

I think I must have been 5 when my grandmother showed me how to hand stitch dollclothes. I was around 11 when my mother taught me how to knit and somewhere around 13 or 14 when she taught me to crochet. I've been doing crafts of one kind or another for over 40 years now. I now have a 7 yr. old daughter that is as interested in crafts as I was as a child.

That is so sweet. I would love to learn how to crochet so that I pass it on to others.

I have to thank my ex mother in law for turning me into a crafter. I knew nothing about it til she showed me the light LOL. She taught me how to use a sewing machine and it's been my passion ever since. It's very relaxing to me to find a pattern I want to make and sit and sew, just listening to the hum of the sewing machine. Very good stress relief.

I'm thinking about taking a sewing class because I would love to sew for myself and others. Especially my 4 month old niece.
