I'm a bit skeptical about it though..
13 years is not a long period to achieve a big dream such as vision 2020.
There are the education issues, for a start. We're not anywhere near Australia in terms of regional education excellence. And the scholarship award, especially JPAz has to be fair.
Our economy is resilient, but foreign investments have slowed. Our industry is not as advanced as in those developed countries. Take India for example, they're the best in IT. We're not expert in anything - Jack of all trade, master of NONE.
In order to achieve that vision, I believe the key word is change of mentality. It's true that we possess first-world facilities but third-world mentality. It's the sense of protecting ourselves and selfishness that obstructs our path to greatness and beyond. And I personally think racial integration is disintegrating - we're not as united as we were in the past.
I feel disappointed when I see students that don't appreciate education. Many young chinese and malays are so ignorant about it. How are we to achieve wawasan 2020 by depending on them? Impossible.
Yet, there is hope. We have the spirit of Malaysia Boleh. So, on we strive. I have hope.

I personally think that Malaysia can achieve Vision 2020. With hard work and determination, that is. And all bribery should be stopped too. In that way, the country can grow steadily and in a strong way. Unity is also very important. A country won't be successful if the people are feuding with one another.
Povery should be abolished and education be given to everybody. There should be fairness in education and nobody should be deprived of it. Smart students can be given scholarships and should make sure that they contribute to the country after they graduate.
Malaysia has the potential to be a developed country. We, Malaysians, just need to work hard and be smart.
