Why do People sing when they are taking bath or shower?

For the lack of better things to do? Bathrooms, because of the shiny tiles possesses excellent acoustical qualities making your singing sound louder and better.

Sometimes I sing when I'm taking a shower. The reason why I do is that I sound better in the shower singing then out of it. Almost like I could be a rock star, which of course I'm very far from!! :)

well i dont sing but i shout loudly. its common in most of people and its natural

:)) Well I don't sing. People usually feel more free and creative during a shower. It's one of those nice moments during your day. Some days I can't wait to get home and take a shower. Maybe that's why people sing, because they're happy. :)

in order to change their mind set as well as they feel that they don't sing well and others reason can be that the people know that some one is taking bath.

I'm in those "most of us"I sing because in bathroom however I'm singing, I get nice voice back (pseudofeeling of a nice singer) While bath, we reduce some of our stress, tension, we get fresh, which make us to feel happy n we sing to express that happiness.

I think it is the sound of the water..we tend to relax near something natural..so it makes our spirit high and happy..ilove the water like a musical accompaniment to the singing..i don'yt need much encouragement lol..

becoz they cant do it in the open...lol

well sometime you do that to let people know you are around especially when you are left alone in the house. others too do that because they feel like doing it and they stop singing immediately they step out from the bath house. It is some feeling that comes to you unconsciously

It's may be the about the water, when we are immersed in water we actually take a deep breath it enlarges our lungs so we take more air, more air results in stronger, firmer voice. Also the bathroom tiles it enhances the texture of our voice making it plessant to the ear.

I really sing a lot when i was taking a shower. Most of their responses was about the acoustic sound of the shower room or the water. And I agree with them .. As for me, one thing that makes me sing in the shower is when im scared. About spirits or ghost. Have you experienced that? when you go for a vacation a heard some stories about that room or that house? SInging in the shower lessen my fear ....Do You agree?

Its because, its something like expressing ourselves in the shower... People think that they are the only people in that area, they are all alone that's why people tend to sing in the shower... There's nothing wrong with that... It's just a part of on how you express ur self coz they feels like secure, no one ever seeing them in the shower so they can do whatever they want.. And one of them is singing...

i guess people sing in da bathroom to pass time atleast dats y i do it :)

The bathroom to me is a place of freedom and liberty; you're naked and free about it without fear of anybody seeing you. i think singing is an expression of this freedom and liberty. I sing alot and loudly at that! lol!

i dont sing at all in the bathroom. i think its a room to bath not to sing. some people who must be having some problem in locking can also sing to let others know that some one is inside. :-) whatever, .......i dont like singing there.

I never really looked into the statistics on this one but if many people do sing in the shower and bath and your asking why, it may be because the water is a freeing agent. It somehow lessens the body from spiritual, mental, and physical debris or life's daily residue that weighs us down and has to be 'cleansed'. I think the reason has something to do with the accustics in the bathroom. My voice always sounds better in there. Gee, I wonder if we should maybe take a leaf out of Ellen's book and start making all of our recordings in our bathrooms. Hahahahaha! I think if we did that, people would feel a great deal more self-confident and the studios would be even more heavily booked than they are now. Hahahahaha! I'd hate to see what some of the back ground noise would be, though. lol.

It's cos while taking a shower the noise is reduced to minimum. Everything in the room is being put onto the same sound frequency and that makes the body more adaptive to stress, happiness or any other mind-infrigerating mood. You ain't relaxed cos of the natural element - water, nor cos you are lying in sum relaxing shampoo, it's cos the sound waves that are being exported like brain-impulses have a very same constant frequency of around 60 Hz which is the perfect frequency to get us to a state very close to the one you like to call Ataraxia (Nirvana). And last but not least, we are singing cos it's the only way of expressing our feelings when alone, cos taking to ourselves would stereotypical have the meaning we're not sane. Excuse my bad english.
