Life is Beautiful

I have watched the movie "Life is Beautiful", and it is really amazing. I realized how precious my life is, and after watching it, I even decided not to complain about the silly things in my life. But the main thing that I am concerned with is: In the context of the concentration camp to which these people are taken, "How can people be so cruel to other people?" Please let me know. I am wondering how this sort of animosity could even exist between human beings?
