Creationhub speaks the truth. Helium is a good way to start getting practice if you like to write. Anyone can be published, but to really make some money, it helps to be a good writer. I've been paid, and I make about $1-3 every day on the site. But you have to get a fair number of articles up on there before you'll see that much, or advetise like crazy.

I do appreciate your response. One good way of us helping each other to benefit from helium is to read each other's articles. I do not have many (only 8 right now) but would appreciate more people reading my articles.
In this way, I get to earn more. I would also like to read your articles. If you can message me your helium profile, it's a win-win situation for us.

Good of you to think positively on helium.com. I do hope you'd look into making money through writing too as well as all the other respondees. Besides mylot.com, helium seems to be building up my income. I noticed that I am earning about 50 cents from people who are reading my articles. This inspire me to be eager to write more articles soon.

I was checking out helium yesterday, trying to get as many details as I can such as how much you have to earn to get paid, do they actually pay, and ideas for what I might write.
Right now I'm frustrated, I had hand written a series of 3 or 4 articles I was going to type up and submit to a site but now I can't find them - they were in a notebook but can't find it. I want to cry :(

It is opened for any country. As long as you can be paid in paypal. I have joined them since Dec 06. Since then, I've written 8 articles of various subjects to try it out. Well, it works and I can see my earnings increasing. In fact, I send my articles to friends to read and get paid as well.
Better still, you do earn from your referrals earnings - 25%. There is no expiry dates on your articles. You can even edit or upgrade your articles.
