what is this BEST RESPONSE

i did not understand what does this thing mark as BEST RESPONSE indicates...and what is its use..also is there any relation between the number that appears and the best responses..plzz reply

When you award the best response to some responder the user gets few earnings. This has no relation to the rating or as you said as "number" in the braces. The user who has been chosen as best gets encouraged and prefers you to respond again in the future discussions started by you. All about this is very well explained in the FAQ under the command pop-up "mylot" seen in the top-right-corner of all pages in mylot.
