Different people have their own ways of seeing things, thus finding their true happiness also comes in so many different ways... Now, if I may ask you...
What make you happy in the long term/ short term?
Consider the following: job satisfaction
a loving family
good health
plenty of money
strong religious beliefs
which amongst these makes you feel happy the most? why so?

Without a doubt the item from your list that brings me true happiness is a loving family. Without a loving family I'm not sure I would even want the others, as I would likely be very miserable without my family! What is money and a job etc if you don't have a family with which to share them?

Having a loving family brings me true happiness, my parents mean the world to me and I am so fortunate to have them. They are always there for me, and have always said to me there's always a home for me if I get into dire straits. I see my parents once every four to five weeks, to stay over for a weekend, I look forward to the visits and they are always asking me when I'm next over to see them.

I believe that the only way to be TRULY happy is by having a close relationship with God. Besides that, my husband and children make me the most happy. Next on my list is dancing.

I'd choose a loving family from that list. Good health is great, and money sure helps, but overall having a family and/or friends that care for you and are there for you is what keeps me sane :) It's nice to have my fiance, parents and siblings around to laugh with and just hang out with.
I don't personally believe in a job making a person happy b/c no matter how much I like my job it is still work! I still have to go there every day (even when I'm tired) and I still have to go to meetings and things when I'm not in the mood. So although I like my job, it's not the source of my happiness. Life is what makes me happy :) Work is just a necessity.

For me, inner peace comes from my spiritual beliefs and from the health of my family and myself. Material things are necessary to get by in life but the main thing that's important to me is my connection with the Divine and the well being of my family.

A strong belief in the Lord Jesus Christ bring joy far beyond anything this world has to offer.
Why?
He has given me everying. Contentment here, abundant life, and a home in heaven someday.
Putting your trust in Him first puts everything else in order.

I have to agree with MsTickle that inner peace and a sense of contentment would top my list. You can have all of the love and riches in the world, but if you are not content with your existence, you will not experience true happiness. Spending time with my family and friends helps me to feel loved and at peace. I also feel secure that I am in good health and can afford the necessities in life. Towards the bottom of my list would be job satisfaction and money. I admit, I would love to have more money, but I know that while money may make me happy temporarily, it will never bring deep, lasting happiness.

A loving family brings me the most happiness. I have put my family thru alot these past few years and they have never given up on me and have supported me thru everything. I love waking up every morning knowing I have people who care about me and would do anything for me.

yes, you are right different people have different tastes in life and so happiness comes from different things to everyone. In the long term what makes me happy is when my family do not have to worry about different things and to be with them and enjoy and share the time with them, and also my friends I love them all they mean a lot to me, and especially seeing my new grandson.

Inner peace and contentment both in the long and short term. Having a roof over my head that I own and my pets around me. These things give me so much joy. Living in a remote rural village means lots of driving and seeing the country side in all sorts of weather and conditions is very uplifting. Sure, there's the road kill and severe dryness and lots of brown from the drought bit the little bit of rain we've had recently has put a vibrant green carpet in patches. It's amazing to watch all these tiny shoots appearing.
Compared to the city, with its concrete, steel, glass and smog, wall to wall traffic and people with unhappy faces I live in heaven. You're welcome to visit anytime.

A loving family and great friends make me happy. Making someone else happy is about the top thing, though. I know my day has been complete if I make someone smile. Truly smile. The one you can see in their eyes. Whether it is my family, friends or a complte stranger. That makes me truly happy.

I consider my family as the priority among the list. They have been my inner source of inspiration. Yet, eventually, we all know that nobody would remain in this world. Since everyone has a beginning, it also has to end. So, I guess, i can only find my true happiness once I can already find the Lord in my life and ready to accept him no matter what. That would also be my fulfillment and greatest achievement. :)

I think you need your health and your family to be healthy to enjoy any of the other things life has to offer. Basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, obviously. My kids make me happy. They are the most important things to me.
